New passport is a bad monkey!

Much ado about nothing.....the info on the rfid chip of the eCARD or new Passport does not contain identifying information, like address, etc. It's a unique identifier that proves that the passport is valid. Read the complete article that you linked..... Of more concern (as was stated in the...

    Jellyfish?

Just saw the following on that fantastic AZ news source, the AZ Republic...... TOKYO - Swarms of giant Nomura's jellyfish are expected in the coastal waters around Japan this year, a "jellyfish typhoon" that threatens to inflict massive damage to the fishing industry. One of the biggest...

    Jellyfish?

We were down last week (thru this Tues.) and were riding jetskis from the harbor all the way to Cholla....didn't see any at all. The water was rough....so don't know if that had anything to do with it. Didn't see any when I walked the dog along the beach on the Mirador either.

    Fishing Report - July 1, 2, 2009

I jetski down there (even have ridden out to Bird Island).....what channel does anyone monitor? It used to be 26. Is there any kind of search and rescue still active? How about the "Old Boys Club" (or whatever name they have) out of Cholla? Still active monitoring the radio?

    4th of July weekend

Jim...I've stopped over a couple of times to meet...but you keep leaving early!!!! I plan on stopping by the CAmelToe today...will tell you "face-to-face".... I don't know if they did open last night, but that was the "plan"....I was too beat from riding jetskis on Sat. to do anything but relax.

    4th of July weekend

Boy was it dead in town...been here since Wednesday...weather has been great....but very few people. Even the bars that serve food were closing over the weekend due to the elections. They do shoot themselves in the foot....poor advertising (relative to the violence in some parts of Mexico)...

No booze in RP weekend of July 4th!

Oh well...I guess I won't be bar hopping on the weekend...will have to use my own liquor and beer supply!!! Those sports bottles sound like a great idea....or gatorade/powerade...just refill with your coice of "beverage"! They come in all sorts of flavors/colors....

    WiFi Question

Roberto...to get the benefit of n routers, you need an n receiver (usb/internal/etc)....you won't see the range improvement with a g receiver. With a repeater, if you can place it halfway betrween the two locations, you'll get range improvement....but that means the availability of power...

    WiFi Question

If Roberto already has broadband service from Telmex (the last time I checked, it was 372 pesos per month for a phone line and broadband...this is less then $30 USD per month)), he needs a wifi router to expand his coverage and maybe a repeater....Satnetpenasco charges $45 per month for wifi.

    WiFi Question

I wouldn't waste your time playing that youtube video...it most likely won't do what you're looking for. Research an "n wifi router" and also look for "wifi repeaters". It all depends on how far you are from your house to the rental units. With an n wifi router, I've seen numbers as high as...

    Stuart Hotel rate

For those thinking about using the Mirador Hotel, a couple of months ago I was checking it out for some friends....and the elevator was not wroking....I wouldn't want to schlog stuff up and down the stairs if I was on the top floors....so stay on the bottom floors or check to see if they fixed...

    medical emergencies

I would agree with the above post, and also use the Red Cross. There is a hospital in town, with an ER, but have no info on it. Located out by the first light coming into town.....you would take the left fork coming in to town, and a couple of blocks down, turn left...it's several blocks...

    Storage for jet ski

ha ha ha....cheap and safe????? I prefer hauling my jetskis down...you're likely to get down there, and the batteries have died....then you need a charger, or have to find a battery that fits in RP!!! There is a storage place out by the airport, next to the Quality Star RV Park that also has...

    WTF(ruit) was THAT?

Yeah...I went thru forgetting my registrations for my jetskis once....had to call back and have someone get to my house, fax the papers to the NAPA parts place in AJO.....and would you know it...I got the green light! I bet if I hadn't gotten the papers, I would have gotten red!

    WTF(ruit) was THAT?

The only way I can respond to this is to say that you are visiting a foreign country....they have their laws, their system of justice, etc....and they may not conform to what we as USA residents expect in our own country. Also, remember that "mordida" (hope I spelled it right) or bribery is an...
