The Police in Sonoita are out of control!

In my over 25+ years of going to Penasco, averaging 8 trips per year (12-14 per year now with my wife retired, so 24-28 trips thru Sonoyta). I keep reading all the posts here and on FB about the people telling their stories about getting stopped/targeted in Sonoyta. Don't get me wrong, I am sure...

    Covid Vaccination

Sure wearing a mask and distancing during flu seasons would be a pain, but would it be worth doing to save 1000's of lives, reduce missed work days and lessen the strain the health system? Time will tell.

    Covid Vaccination

Masks don't work, that's a silly idea. I was at my Dr's office 3 weeks ago and asked him about the effectiveness of using masks, he said please do myself and everyone else a favor and wear one when around other people. I asked him how bad the influenza flu season was he said the numbers are very...

The Police in Sonoita are out of control!

As many here do, I do the Sonoyta crawl driving 23-25mph. I know most of the Policia hiding places in Sonoyta. The only time we were pulled over with the cruise set at 24mph, I repeated to the officer, No Lo Creo, Estas equivocado, (I don't think so, you are wrong). After repeating this back...

They raise the price of some items in Puerto Peñasco

The price of oil in early Nov was $37 per barrel of crude. Today crude is $52 per barrel. Hence the rise in fuel prices. Oil should range around $60-70 per barrel as the Covid crimped economy sparks back to life, so expect gas to cost north of $3 this summer in the Phx area and $3.40 in CA...

They raise the price of some items in Puerto Peñasco

In Penasco, Magna per liter was 18.79 in late Dec, Jan 3rd it was 19.6ish and when we came down today it's 20.49. Overall a 9% increase in 1 month, that will help slow the economy here because fuel costs were already high here. In Sonoyta it's 15.69 today.

Looks like lock down will continue for awhile

We had used our expired passports for almost 2 years, we were told 2x out of 20 trips that they were expired and should be updated. One agent said they were still valid for land travel into the USA. I've read the travel requirement for some countries that require you to have a passport with...

MJ, you know your hustory. Past Mexican Pres Nieto, also removed the gov't Subsidies from fuel, then added additional taxes to refined fuel which helped boost the retail price of fuels. Nieto's policy to allow foreign investment and privatizing Pemex in 2017 also skyrocketed the prices...

There's still lots of people coming down now. Just a little slow because of the holiday season. Border restrictions don't apply to Peñasco currently, it's tourism is considered essential so no restrictions on US citizens. Mexicans can't travel north for vacations and other restrictions.

Looks like lock down will continue for awhile

I just saw the new numbers on the news (KPHO 5 5 PM news) and learned the daily numbers AZ is reporting are about 2 weeks old. So the 5,942 new cases Kenny reported today were really from around Dec 23-24. The expected surge numbers from X-Mas will start showing up around Jan. 15-20th in the...
