So they have started on the construction? I've heard that they have some bands signed up but still working on some. Gather it is much more involved then maybe anticipated.
Last night DH, friends and I managed to get out of our beach clothes and got all gussied up to attend the Blanco y Negro Ball - the major charity event in Mexico. The Mayor's wife, who headed up the function, did a fantastic job. It was a great turnout, especially considering the size of...
Just noticed that the Boomer Fest web site was (slightly) updated with a site map (too small to read, at least for my eyes) and the announcement that tickets will now go on sale in December. No announcement of which artists will appear.
A ton of years ago (maybe 30 or so) my daughter's puppy wandered off - we went to the radio station and they put out an alert for us and by the time we got back to the Villa Granada someone who heard the radio appeal had brought the puppy to Louisa at the Villa Granada.
Corona immediately takes me back to the days of laying on the beach and dancing at Hector's Cantina at the Playa Hermosa. Learned to do the Twist at Hectors. In those days the only cooling device on a hot summer night of dancing was to take a dip in your bathing suit, put a shift over it and...
I just received this from Karina:
" We're having a special menu for Thanksgiving, like a package that includes: turkey, cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie, green beans, etc.
Again thanks,
Karina"
I know they bring down packages mailed through the US post office (you pay duty on packages and it varies from package to package). I would presume they would send a package too (you might have to have the correct postage on it). They do send express mail.
Last night (Thursday) we went to Pane e Vino and had an excellent dinner as always. They had Cream of Asparagus which was to die for!!! I could have made the whole meal off of the soup. There were no leftovers - not even enough for a 'kitty bag', which most annoyed George.
Fortunately we had...
One set of our kids were here and wanted me to go with on one of Russ' tours. So even though I've been here forever I tagged along (I think the kids didn't trust me not to get them lost). Anyway, another very nice couple from NM were with us and we all had a great time. Russ talked about old...
I just picked up 4 beautiful rib eyes for under $12 at Super Ley yesterday. Plus the ground beef I got was excellent - hardly any fat/grease at all and so less expensive then in the States. Also got some fresh green beans, which my DH didn't want me to buy as he isn't into string beans - when I...
Terry, welcome to the forum - everyone is great about giving helpful tips about Penasco. My first time here was in '48 - needless to say, a few changes :) but the people are still warm and welcoming - more so then any place we have ever lived.
All I know is that what we need (just normal stuff) is way higher down here then by mail such as Costco or Bashas. For each prescription in the States I would pay ~$7-$10 for a three month supply. Here it costs at least that much for a one month supply. I understand that it used to be fairly...
Looks like we will be going :) DH tends to drag his feet about getting dressed up and going out at night but with a little arm twisting lol - besides, I do have a black long dress gathering sand.
Know it is for a really good cause. What is the cost in US dollars and how does one pay for it...
