    CS Restaurant Supply has moved

If you haven't stopped by before it is worth the trip. We love digging through the freezers and always find something good. Carlos and Michelle both speak excellent English and they also take credit cards - which is especially helpful as we always end up with more then we had intended.

    CS Restaurant Supply has moved

Stopped by CS today to pick up a few things and Carlos said they had moved. New location is across from Numero - actually on the side street next to the Video store (I'm not very good at directions). Michelle was there and they were open for business. The will be closed over the few days of the...

Fire to the East = Dec 18

A large amount of smoke from a fire to the East - does anyone know what was burning or if it was a controlled burn? Looks like the smoke clouds were all the way up to the border.

Shuttle Service / Car Rental to PP

Our family has used Head Out To RP and were delighted with the service. I understand that Enterprise lets you take their rental into Mexico but you have to buy Mexican Car Insurance through them and it is pricier then getting it through Rosie, etc.

    Travel Warning for Phoenix

I just read this morning that Jesus Jimenez of Penasco was the gentleman who was dragged to his death after his car was hit by a drunk driver in Phoenix. Apparently, after his car was hit, he got out to talk to the driver of the other vehicle. Our heartfelt sympathy to the family and friends of...

    Little did they know

Beautifully written. My DH's Uncle Charles was at Hickman Field that day. The family were frantic as they tried, without success, to find out information on Charles. Charles was a belly gunner in the Army Air Corp. Their plane was one of the few that got off the ground. DH's father immediately...

Teeth Cleaning at LG Dental Clinic

Always is so nice to have one's teeth cleaned - almost hate eating that first bite :) They are really great people there.

Teeth Cleaning at LG Dental Clinic

Our second time at LG dental Clinic (recommended by a friend when initially). For $45 each we got our teeth cleaned and examined. Didn't need x-rays - if we had they would have been included. Unlike the USA, at least this office, doesn't think it is a good idea to take a lot of unnecessary...

    Mañana-itis is a Mexican Epidemic

A good Penasco friend was explaining the difference been a Mexican and a Norte Americano. It is a beautiful warm day - great beach weather. The kid says to his Dad, "Don't go to work today - lets go to the beach!" The Mexican Dad looks at the kid, looks at the waiting beach, looks at his...

Kill your tv and read a book set in Mexico

A couple of Bailey Crane Mystery books are set in a fictional town that will have one thinking they are right in the middle of Penasco :)

    Friend passed last night

A long time ago a doctor told my DH that "You rest, you rust." Same goes for the mind. Between being able to walk the beach and picking up Spanish he is doing okay at not rusting (much) :) At 79 that isn't too bad. Very sorry about your friend and co-worker - it is always hard to lose...

Gov. Padres Visit Nov 28th 2012

Hope this link works as interesting information on Gov. Padres' visit yesterday. Maybe Rosie and Russ can fill in some details ;). Convention Center funds are being released for 2nd phase. Flights from Vegas are now scheduled for March - 3 times a week (our Vegas kids are in line to buy...

    Thanksgiving Weekend Observations

But at night in the summer, sitting on the terrace with a breeze off of the sea, stars up above, laughter of children, the sounds of music, heat and humidity seem to disappear.

    Thanksgiving Weekend Observations

El Gato loves being out there with us and when he leans over the terrace my heart goes into my mouth! He also likes to lay on the bed and looks out at the sea, almost in a trance - he appears to watch the coming and goings of the shrimp boats. He also loves laying in the sun and getting his...

    Thanksgiving Weekend Observations

Sort of like Phoenix - can be beautiful or windy and cold. Have had it both ways but probably more beautiful then not. Of course we could be biased :) You are right about Thanksgiving being fantastic (you are missing today!) We managed to sleep through the fog on Sunday night. Have seen it a...

Pane e Vino - Thursday through Sunday

I just heard that Pane e Vino will be closed on Wednesdays, starting this week, for the month of December. They will be open Thursday through Sunday, 5pm to 10:30pm. Chef Luca does a wonderful job - mouth waters just thinking of his great food. I have to watch myself that I don't end up making...

    Blanco y Negro Ball

We posted it on our HOA newsletter and I think I remember reading about it on Jim R, Sonoran monthly newsletter. Jim does an excellent job and you don't have to be part of the Sonoran group in order to be signed up for it.

    Blanco y Negro Ball

El Gato rarely lets us sleep in - he is like a two year old with the feeding timetable. We did manage until 6:30 this morning. An almost unheard of feat! And a good thing as we aren't used to staying up that late dancing :)
