    Surf fishing?

Just drive into Cholla Bay on the main road, and stay on it past JJ's, and keep working your way to the Southwest as it loops around.... When you can go no further west, and no further south, then walk down to the rocks and fish.

Fished Cholla Bay on Sunday Morning

I don't think they are sanddabs either- sanddabs usually have dark orange spots on them, and they are small. There is still some science to be done to determine the if the large halibut we catch offshore are indeed California Halibut, or if they are a similar species indiginous only to the SOC...

    fishing friday or saturday

Hey Leigh- aren't Ted and Tom both going to be down in Lobos this week? If weather allows, it's better to fish down there this time of year, where you don't have to run 50 miles out.

Capone's: Anyone know where JOSE, the old chef, moved on to?

That's an interesting story as well, since Dave and Henry were the architects of all of AlCapones pizza recipes.... To his credit- I will say that Jose prepared a KILLER lasagna... and the annual pig roast was always a hit. I hope they continue doing that.

    Mañana-itis is a Mexican Epidemic

My wife is a Teacher... I actually voted yes on Prop 204. I'm a huge proponent of children not getting shafted simply because adults tend to be complete idiots. I also can't see how a system based upon personal choice could be corrupted.. I agree with your point that people would align their...

    Mañana-itis is a Mexican Epidemic

Firstly- Welcome back from your forum vacation. Your pal Jerry and I had a BLAST of a conversation about your walker while you were out. Don't ask me why, because I have no friggin clue. Now- regarding government revenue: Your statement above is not 100% accurate. I believe that taxation is...

    Mañana-itis is a Mexican Epidemic

HERE HERE...! You're absolutely right. Please substitute "Worthless, Snivelling, Favor-Trading, Two-Faced, Back-Stabbing, Do-Goody Politicians in general" for "Democrats" in my post above....

    Mañana-itis is a Mexican Epidemic

I think the personal value you guys are tip-toeing around is integrity, and the personal commitment and adherence to contract (whether verbal or otherwise)... yes? Well, superiority of contract is a VERY western (read: European Caucasian) concept; and integrity is a PERSONAL attribute - it is...

    Mañana-itis is a Mexican Epidemic

You're a man of simple pleasures. I can appreciate that. But, as ye sow, so too shall ye reap... I'm sure you'll be ok, just as long as you croak before the currency system collapses due to an unpayable 50 Trillion dollar future burden of Medicare and Social Security. I'm digressing...

    Mañana-itis is a Mexican Epidemic

Just wait until the offshore bite picks up a little more... you'll have another episode of "neighborhood issues" rolling into town Just listen for the clatter (and the smell) of the big Ford diesel...

    Mañana-itis is a Mexican Epidemic

and BTW Stephen--- Don't take my post above as a critcism of ALL your points. When you say: I can see where you're coming from... but I call this simply prudent business practices... ie: "fool me once, yada yada yada" :)

What to Catch in Feb and March

Winter time is awesome time for fishing.... :gofishing: Halibuts (flounder) Spotted Bay Bass, etc from shore, and big halibuts, white seabass, pargo (snappers) and Pintos offshore (and even yellowtail if you can manage a run of about 50 miles) Go to Mark's site to book a boat: Rocky Point...

    Mañana-itis is a Mexican Epidemic

Stephen - you fail to see the hypocrisy of your own "professional standard" here... The things you characterize as "opportunities" above may not appeal to the people that you would have to rely on in order to be successful.... get it? Just because YOU see opportunity, does not mean other...

    Mañana-itis is a Mexican Epidemic

It's actually a fool's errand, IMHO. I mean, people are going to go ahead and park their boat wherever they want to.... right? Spot on about patience and tolerance.

    Mañana-itis is a Mexican Epidemic

We'll get right on that for you.... Manana. Seriously, though - if the city wanted to remove some of those unfinished projects, then instead of going after the builders to clean the sites up, the city should just do what it did with the Fiesta Boozer when it finally became a safety...

I need one of these baby's behind my house!

Far out. I only glanced at the story, and did not dig into the gory technical details (yet) , but the initial question that jumped out at me was: It works by spraying water into hot air to cool it, and it generates power as the cooler air falls and spins air driven turbines... In other words...

    180 lb. Grouper

That story is STILL incomplete. We actually ran down to Lobos and bought that fish off of Ted's friend the panga-guy, and then we high-tailed it back to Penasco, loaded it on a submarine and ran it out to Stu's boat (which we knew would be sitting on either the 43, the 51, or the Witch's hat)...
