This kind of thinking worldwide is why we continue to destroy the environment. If we can make a buck it's ok because the environment is already messed up and the neighbors project is much more destructive.

this home port idea is probably not going to work out too soon, if ever, imho.
I read one of the more recent articles about this, and to compare RP to the Cabo san Lucas port is just a wee bit off the mark.
The photo showing a handful of cruise ships in the bay in Cabo has obviously been photoshopped (notice that 3 of the ships are exactly the same).
We have a timeshare in Cabo, and have never seen more than 2 ships there at once. Typically, the ships anchor out in the bay, and they run "tenders" back and forth to shore. There has been talk of building a cruise ship pier/dock, and altho the cannery has been closed for years, I'm not sure the dock will ever be built there. I'm all for tourism and development, but having the right development at the right place and time is important. This idea for a cruise ship port just seems out of place with the character of RP.
Just my 2 pesos.

In the end it will be for the people of RP not some selfish people that want to keep the people car-window washing and girls hustling the streets.

Try reading the story then lets talk....these same developers are responsible for bringing in the cheap southern Mexico labour in the Pigeon Coop bubble rather than pay local Artisans a fair wage.

Very Dear Mr. Julio Martinez , I have my sailboat in the marina Mazatlan , I have under my belt two awards for second place in the international regatta port vallrta my sailboat is a perason triton with a draft keel 3 feet tall approx I am now filing Puerto Pe'asco ..

It was really my interest to bring me velro Puerto Pe ; disgust me desaforunadamente not doing coastal sailing can bring about the ports of Guaymas Topolobambo etc etc the nautical staircase in order for the simple reason that by the side of the Mexican Republic is a innabegable sea that is too low , The Sea of Cortez has
some deep navigation channels on the side of the Baja California so even tradado and is very dangerous for any vessel of deep draft . I doubt so cruises can navigate the sea of cortez The nautical staircase disenio for minors and fishing boats that I repeat it is not a navigable for deep- sea . This will add the Diferença of maeras of kilomentro medium in a couple of hours on the beach becomes home port area .

You knew that the security interceptor boats naconal can not leave the marina if current low tide ?

You knew that Arizona has the highest record of vessels in the United States and as these vessels are below the Tropic of capricorno lat 23
You knew that the marine biologist Jaques Custauau could not suibir with Calypso and only came to Guaymas and hence could not pass ......

The project should begin viavilidad if the sea of cortez navigable or not?

AUINADO ECOLOGICAL DISASTER THIS SEA OF CORTEZ THE AQUARIUM OF THE WORLD!

So you say the coming of the home port will bring relief to prostitutes and car window washers in PP? Ha, maybe like it did in longbeach and the rest of the world? I think you're approaching what will work for you and your book. Why not keep playing with it till you find something that works and that you yourself have written?
