J: I am waiting for the next generation battery to come along and change everything. A friend has a new Tesla S and it is ungodly fast and very quiet.

Five minutes left to go after 10 days of driving and I get stopped

J: we got bit up pretty badly from skeeters and no see ums. I unfortunately have great tasting blood and the biters flock to me. I ended up using a lot of Deet. I wish Penasco had some small cool places to stay like Tulum does, you are right.

Five minutes left to go after 10 days of driving and I get stopped

J: I saw the MayaTulum and passed it several times on the beach road. We spent a few nights in Tulum at Ana Y Jose's Charming Hotel. I swam in about 10 cenotes and toured every archaeological site I could get close to. The Yucatan is an incredible place and truly opened my eyes to Mexico's...

Five minutes left to go after 10 days of driving and I get stopped

I was within 5 minutes of the Cancun airport when the overly friendly police officer pulled me over. I had just driven 1600 miles without an incident all over the Yucatan peninsula. The speed limits fluctuated from 70km per hour to 40km per hour on the road I was on and I very well may have sped...

    Coconut palms on RP beaches?

I think these trees would do well in Penasco proper but the salt and sand on the beach may make it a little tough for them.

Thank you all for your valuable input. Have any of you had success with other trees or plants on our beaches in PP?

    Think small

I have a few friends that have built using containers. I think they spent about 1.5 times the amount it would have cost to just build conventionally. I personally think the containers are cool but there is a ton of retro fitting required to make them habitable.

    Coconut palms on RP beaches?

I am currently in Tulum. The beaches here are covered with coconut palm trees. I want to plant some on my beach and was wondering if anybody has tried it? If I supplied water in the summer would the trees stand a chance?

    Golf @ Mayan Palace

I am waiting anxiously for the Mayan to build the course between Luna Blanca and the Mayan Palace, if it ever happens. Connecting the two resorts could be cool for those that enjoy golf . I just want my property to increase in value so I can sell and move to Santo Tomas, harass Jerry a little...

    New wind turbine

For those of us still utilizing the sun and the wind here is a new wind turbine. I doubt this unit can withstand the sun, sand and salt in our environment but it shows promise: http://gizmodo.com/eureka-a-whisper-quiet-wind-turbine-based-on-archimede-1582606998

    Another Pacifico shortage?

I like most Mexican beer put Pacifico reigns at the top of my list. I do have a bar nearby in Phoenix that has Victoria on tap and it is very good: http://blogs.dallasobserver.com/cityofate/2010/12/victoria_beer_mexico.php

A reminder about accidently crossing with a gun

I agree. There are incidents where someone has been arrested for having spent cartridges in their car or truck. What a complete joke and truly a mockery of Mexican police and law to arrest someone over an innate piece of trash. I have always felt like both sides of the border are operated by a...

A reminder about accidently crossing with a gun

Like an idiot I have crossed with weapons in my car. I have left a shotgun in the backseat after quail hunting, actually drove across to drink one night in Aqua Prieta with a deer rifle hanging in the rear window and have accidentally left ammo behind the rear seat. Knowing I have used up all...
