What is so difficult to understand????.....some residents of Sonoita obtained visas to legally "visit" the US for themselves and their families. It is not extremely difficult...as long as you have a job, an address in Sonoita or elsewhere in Mexico, and show that you are paying bills there...

The latest report from the sheriff's department is that they chopper was not fired on....something dropped on the floor of the helicopter (metal) and the crew thought they were being fired on.....

Betcha all of them were not....they set up an address in Lukeville ($50 per month according to the article) at the Gringo Pass so that they had a US address....then registered at the Ajo school. There was/is(?) no check of citizenship as long as they could show an address in the US......that...

They were Mexican residents using a Lukeville address so that they could use Ajo schools for their education....must have had a VISA to cross the border on a regular basis.

I've had good luck with the prices at the Pharmacy on the diagonal road off Benito Juarez just past the Town Hall.... on the way to Manny's and the Mirador. They seem to discount everything from the listed prices when you pay with US $$.

Spent the weekend of May 1 thru May 3 in Penasco....very relaxing, no problems whatsoever (particularly since I don't drive a Ford F250 diesel:rofl:). No problems at the border....the Customs guy was a sourpuss, but professional....only a couple short questions....took about 10 minutes to get...

Hey Manny....Fernando is the best. Had a great "tequila tasting" this past weekend.....there were 7 of us in the group.....and I know Fernando made a convert of several!!!! Glad you finally got in the Almond....been waiting for that for over 3 months for some friends!!!!

Russ....there have been a few posts on here with people concerned about buying any amount and not being to bring them across.....so I relayed the info I got....at $7/lb, it's nothing to discount if you have to dump them at the border!!! Thank you for your "INFORMATIVE" post and "EXCELLENT"...

With some of the reports I've read about a embargo on Mexican shrimp from the upper gulf, I asked the Customs people when we crossed back to the US today about it. They said there is no embargo at this time....wouldn't or couldn't tell me anymore.
