    Sea Turtle Question

Geez, Jerry... if you REALLY wanted to make a difference, you'd just sit on them until they hatched! :cluck:

    Complainant against Pimps and Hoes.

I have to agree with the article. Being a longtimer, Calle 13 used to be much more family-oriented. I mean, it's always had strip clubs and the caliente, but you could walk there with your family and nobody would bother you. The family always loved an evening meal at Gus Asadero and a walk up...

Not something we've even talked about at this point, Kenny, so the little birdie was wrong. Obviously, because of my years of involvement with it, I would consider it, but it's Tyler's baby.

    Rocky Pont News Online

I can say the same thing about this forum. It's ALWAYS been a labor of love on my part; I've personally never seen one thin dime from it. Those that have been around forever remember how hard it was to keep the old forum going near the end. We all have Tyler to thank for stepping up and offering...

    Just wondering

I wasn't kidding about the octopus. Some of the best I've had was in San Carlos cooked with guajillo (sp?) peppers. Done right, it's soft and has a great taste. Done wrong, it's like chewing a rubber band. In Italy, I've eaten baby octopus where you just pop the whole thing in your mouth and eat...

La Pinta - Shore Fishing 7-4-2011

Head south towards the Mayan. Go past the Mayan and over the estuary area just to your right. You'll come over a small rise. there will be a road to your right with a old, beat up shack. Turn right on that road and head to the beach. About a mile or so down that sandy road. I used to be able...

Gaaaaaaaahhhhh!!! I barf at the thought of putting one of those slime slingers anywhere near my mouth! But hey, octopus is yummy!

report for 7-16 on the reel hard

Nice plate, nice fish -- sorry about the break offs! Depending on where you were fishing, that boat fire a couple years back had all the tackle in place when she went down. But, looks like that one got pulled over or something. I'll be down soon. My boat is ready to see some saltwater; been...

60 miles South of San Felipe boat sinks many dead

Why would that surprise you, Zona? No different than this forum where people poo-poo narco shootings, dead bodies, kidnappings, and other horrific events as "You're perfectly safe, nothing to see here, move along." They have a vested interest and bad news is not good for business. If you say...

    Got the Secondary Inspection Yesterday

They don't put "dumb gringo" in the computer (or alcohol warnings, that I'm aware of!!)

    Got the Secondary Inspection Yesterday

glug-glug.... ahhhhh. Yeah, it's really weird on the alcohol thing. None of the ports of entry in AZ are authorized to collect duty. So, they have two options. Confiscate, or let you go. Most cases, they just let you go if you're a bottle or so over the limit. The wife and I came back from a...

    Funky Fish

I recognize the wrasse and small parrotfish in your hands. Common to catch when making bait. I always release them. I recognize the Moorish Idols (look like angelfish), too. It's a beautiful world down there! I've seen nearly all of that in San Carlos snorkeling. The one thing that's really...

La Pinta - Shore Fishing 7-4-2011

Ahhhhhh, La Pinta... such fond memories of shore fishing there! Great post and thanks for the pics!!! You've inspired me to break out my surfcasting gear and give it a try down there again! :puff:

60 miles South of San Felipe boat sinks many dead

I hadn't heard that, but it doesn't surprise me. Ultimately (in any country), the captain is responsible for the safety of the vessel, crew, and passengers. That captain screwed up big time, especially if the reports are true that the harbor master had closed the harbor and told the Erik twice...

Is $75/person a good rate for charter fishing?

6 people, indeed. Bigger is better. I only ever take four, max. You put 6 on a small boat and everybody is stepping all over each other, lines are constantly tangled, just one big PITA for all. It's as much about enjoying yourself and having a good time as it is about catching fish.

    Crossing into Mexico

We like to bring our own lunch meat and/or sandwiches for the boat with us. Sorry -- I've never seen GOOD Boar's Head deli quality meats and artisan sub rolls anywhere in Penasco for making Connie's killer fishing sandwiches! Spoiled, maybe. But, I look forward to that sandwich after being out...

Is $75/person a good rate for charter fishing?

$75 a person is cheap. I don't charter per se, but when I take friends etc. out, it's $200 a head. Then again, I go out 50 miles or more and gas ain't cheap these days. It's a full 8-10 hour fishing day on my boat.

    Crossing into Mexico

You shoulda just ripped'em open and ate 'em raw on the spot! Then, you could of growled at the Border Agents!!! GRRRRRRRR!!! The whole food thing has gotten absolutely ridiculous, Art. I mean, I TOTALLY UNDERSTAND the rules for major commercial shipments of fruits, veggies, meats going across...

60 miles South of San Felipe boat sinks many dead

They were fishing; went to move the boat. I don't think they used the blower -or- they had a gas leak. When they hit the starter - BOOM! Sent the big guy laying on the back of my boat flying 15-20 ft. in the air when the motor cover blew. He had been sitting on it. Likely he saved the rest of...
