    I am new

You're welcome! By the way - if anyone has a friend they've recommended come here and that person has any trouble registering, please get in touch with me. I have been locking out specific IP address ranges, but can make allowances as needed.

    I am new

Hi Happy. Bye Happy. You're going to run out of IP addresses before I run out of time to ban them. :puff:

    el desconocido

I'll have to see the pic, but this sounds like another name for gold-spotted bass (aka "stranger fish") as desconocido translates to "unknown" or "stranger." Commonly, that's what they call gold-spots. They are rock bass looking and generally spotted all over the head. I'll bet ya a peso! :puff:

weekend fishing report and name this fish

Sculpin for sure. Did ya CAREFULLY throw it back? You do NOT want to get poked by one of those spines. I've been told they are good eating and we occasionally catch them out on the reefs, along with their cousin red scorpionfish, on the deeper reefs. I always throw them back because of my...

And you needed to add that exactly why?

    Boat question

Jerry, I've had some poundings on pangas that I thought ruptured a kidney! Just a stool-packing, teeth-rattling, bone-jarring nightmare. How those guys do that day after day is beyond me. Of course, nearly all of them are at the very back of the panga running the tiller motor, softest ride on...

    Boat question

There are decent reefs 10-12 miles out. That was my reference to "near-shore." Pintos, triggers, sardinero, occasionally even big grouper. There are also reefs more in the 20 mile range north out of Cholla that are good producers. Then, there's a whole set of deep reefs in the 30-60 mile range...

    Boat question

Near-shore reefs, on flat days. That's about as far as I'd go in that boat. But yes, it will let you get out and catch some fish.

    Moonshine

I have an original unopened bottle from Roger's first run, sold only at Circus Mexicus when they had it across from the Penasco Del Sol several years back. #765 of 1000. Ran it on Ebay with a reserve of $500 -- it bid up to $257!!! Hanging on to it in my collection for now.

Has anyone ever purchased Soma in RP?

Truth be known, you can buy many drugs in Mexico that you cannot buy without a prescription in the US. Antibiotics are now very difficult to acquire, even just plain ol' Amoxicillin. This is all over Mexico, not just Rocky Point. The Mexican Minister of Health put out an edict on this a year or...

My dog needs a new home.

When someone is banned, I have the option of deleting or leaving all their posts at the same time. In this case, I left them. Why? It's a good example of how to get banned around here. :puff:

    Looking for Absinthe

You can buy it in the US. At one time, that was true, but is commonly available - several brands. http://www.bevmo.com/Shop/ProductList.aspx?Ntt=absinthe&N=0&Ntx=mode%2bmatchall&Nty=1&D=absinthe&Ntk=All&Dx=mode%2bmatchall

    Looking for Absinthe

That's probably due to the great wormwood shortage! Everything is always more expensive than you remember it being. If you remember anything at all after drinking absinthe! :puff:

    Update on Boomerfest

X2 - - My son and I spent that week fishing last year. Yuck. Water was so hot the fish were jumping in the boat to cool down! 92+ (we didn't catch a damn thing).

    Looking for Absinthe

They USED TO have it at the UETA Store when you cross at Lukeville, but their inventory changes, so no guarantees. I'm willing to bet Vasquez in Sonoita has it. I recall it not being terribly expensive at all - $25 to $40 range?? Wormwood dreaming.... go figure. :puff:

Fox 10 report on whales and Rocky Point
