    Fishing report Feb 7th.

I assumed that it was not a one-man slaughter. Never is on my boat, usually three or four guys and we're always very close to limits. Looks like a huge ol' pile of fish on the table when Arturo is cleaning them, but if you did an actual head count on people/fish, the numbers would be very close...

Well, JWT... You just didn't listen. Instead, you come into the ONE forum here I hold sacred and start stirring things up. Bye!

    Fishing report Feb 7th.

Nice report! Thanks! On water like that, I can drop the hammer and be back in port in just a hair over an hour from the 51. I was wondering on the gas prices, too. Although I hate towing with full tanks, the cost savings on a couple hundred gallons would likely be worth it.

    Repeater or Booster?

And here I was hoping this what a thread about a new VHF radio repeater being installed in Penasco like they used to have on Channel 26. Marine VHF has never been the same since the military took that repeater down.

The Homeport...A reason a week it is a bad idea

We? You got a mouse in your pocket? I'm going to be honest here - "we" (as members of this forum) welcome nearly anyone. As I've said in the past, we put the "fun" in dysfunctional and are more or less a big family. You seem to have issues with some of our members here and you present yourself...

The Homeport...A reason a week it is a bad idea

Laughable at best, Jerry. Penasco struggles to keep power (and water) available to the city itself, let alone to cruise ships on a dock. Especially during the warm months, blackouts are a fairly common thing as demand soars and the AC units all whir. The cruise ships will be better off under...

21 ft NEW PONGA CUSTOM BUILD

Sounds waaaaaaay too cheap to me, Bill. I'd be careful and do my homework on this one. Hey - you're no youngster. Pangas are some rough-riding son of a guns in the chop, unless you're running the tiller at the back of the boat.

    Pic of red tide!

Red tides aren't all that common in Penasco, but it's not the only kind of algae that does a weird bloom thing like that. While fishing San Carlos one year, we were about 20 miles out and noticed the water was turning a thick mustard yellow around us. We ran further south and again found some...

Beach and desert exploring trucks and Atv's ..reviews

Who'd a thunk a thread about trucks could get so... so... emotional. o_O I'll see all your vehicles and raise you my ol' Scout. I restored this beast from the ground up and it spent mucho time on the beaches of RP and San Carlos. Wish I still had it. It had to go bye-bye when I divorced in...

    Lost Cat...Sonoran Sea area

Beautiful cat - I honestly hope you find it. (From one that currently has 9 rescued cats). :( I'm kind of surprised you travel with it (or it with you). My cats hate the car, even going on a short ride to the vet! And they won't get near strangers. Please let us know how this turns out. Thanks!

    shark populations in puerto penasco

I live in Tempe. My boat's currently up here at home and if/when I get some time, for routine maintenance. I usually leave it stored down in Penasco because I hate towing the big beast around. And even though I hate doing so, I'll probably fill it here and tow it down there full because gas is...

    shark populations in puerto penasco

Hahahaha! That video has been making the rounds lately. Watch it slowly and closely. The whale is chasing a small seal. You can clearly see it jump out of the water briefly just by the boy. The whale appears to knock the boy down and go over him, not eat him. Even if the whale DID actually get a...

Yeah, well you're still ornery as hell, have an ugly dog, and ya can't catch fish! (Love ya, man!) Happy New Year! ;)

Yep. And it was an American Legion Post as well! No drinking going on there... Hey, I still down a few and a fishing trip wouldn't be complete without tossing back some cold Pacificos. And I've been known to indulge a good bit during visits. I can't do tequila anymore; very rare day for me...

fyi; do not think there is any evidence that a human has been hurt in the Wild by Orcas, they are dolphins. Only have Man caged Orcas have hurt or Killed humans. This is basically a true statement. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Killer_whale_attacks_on_humans What's not often understood...

    Flare Gun Question

Kind of an any given day thing. You'll have difficulty locating an "official" answer to this question, but the advice above is solid. If the flare gun is perceived as a weapon (i.e., you are carrying it in your purse or car, with no other boating equipment), then yes -- it is likely to be...
