    Medicinal Marijuana

The US Border Patrol is using a sniffing dog on every car crossing into Mexico now. Looking for guns, money and drugs. Don't even do it! I bet they catch more casual pot users than hard core criminals with those dogs. I do hope they are stopping some of the guns and ammo though.

    Need advice for shore fishing.

I use 7 foot medium spinning tackle with 10 pound test. I don't use bait at all but there is some more advice in this thread: http://www.rockypointtalk.com/thread6116-2.html#post57190

    Fishing Las Conchas Area

Rays are easier to step on at LOW tide. Always shuffle your feet and kick up sand to scare off the rays (the famous "Cortez Shuffle"). NEVER walk into the Sea of Cortez bare footed! I wear neoprene wading shows, at least put a sneaker on those tootsies. I have had a direct ray hit on bare skin...

    Santo Tomas Surfcasting

Hey Jerry! I dress to impress. I would be happy to throw some in the freezer next time if the fishing is that good! I did have a great Dad who took me fishing in places that could easily kill us if we were not careful. Just getting to Santo Tomas was a challenge when I was 18! I learned a lot...

    Santo Tomas Surfcasting

I just returned from Santo Tomas and boy are my arms tired! My only complaint about the three days of fishing me and 7 buddies had was the size of the Corvina. Most were running from 10 to 14 inches and slim. We managed to bag 20 to 30 keeper fish each day, some Corvina and some Pompano. There...

    Fishing Las Conchas Area

I agree on all counts Parrothead. Kastmaster is the best lure due to how easy it is to throw, and fish love 'em! Rocks, estuary mouths and anywhere you can see bait or pelicans diving is where to fish. Do work the edges of bait pods and also cast out beyond if you can as fish often are pinning...

    Sonoyta Bridge?

I had no problem crossing at 3 pm on Thursday going down as not one car was ahead of me coming up to the bridge. We stopped at Vasquez on the way home Monday afternoon and there was one wait for cars coming the other way with about five people ahead of us. Took about three minutes extra. I would...

    Sonoyta Bridge?

Any first hand reports on the previously mentioned detour for bridge construction? I and friends are crossing Thursday and Friday and would love to know if the alternate route is advised. Thanks!

    Sunflower Fire

My first solo highway drive at 15 and a half was from Heber to Phoenix on the Beeline. I am smelling and seeing the Sunflower smoke now here in N. Phoenix and it is always sad when some of our lovely nature goes up in flames.

    Federalies?

Hey The Man, due to a secret order from Obama the tin foil in the US no longer stops the brain penetrating rays from his secret mind control rays. You have to make your hat out of Mexican tine foil and drink Mexican beer and tequila to protect yourself!

*BORDER INCIDENT* Can the CBP KEEP you from crossing INTO Mexico WITHOUT a Passport?

Great thread everyone! I have to agree with Jerry that the well advertised "you need a passport" policy has really put a squeeze on auto entry to Mexico and RP is auto only. A rather pathetic 28% of adult US citizens hold a passport last time I saw it in the travel press. I hazard to guess it is...

    HBO Latin Movie Shows Sonoyta

Yecora is in Sonora so wouldn't be much of a plot stretch. Also many roads lead to Sonora for budget border crossing.

    New Ad for Revolution 13

I thought that classy ensemble looked familiar Kenny! That little spit of sand is a great place to scare fish. I will likely be there soon.

    HBO Latin Movie Shows Sonoyta

There is a pine forested region inland from Hermosillo near the town of Yecora close to the Chihuahua border. I think that it the closest and only area in Sonora I know of. Further south there are more in Sinaloa and Chihuahua.
