This is supposed to be the phone number for the US Border crossing....someone called and they were able to get somewhat of an update on the status of the detour over the river bed.....said that they were only seeing high profile vehicles (this was about 9:30am)...not the best info...but at least...

Thanks Bill...I had thrown the 4-5 hours out.....I've been to El Golfo on the Coast Highway...took about 1.5-2 hours (made a couple of stops for photo ops).....but not any further. It may be the only alternative to getting stuck (not a bad thing) in Penasco another day.....

other than the narration in spanish, which I didn't understand, the same info was already out there...in photos form.....

Yeah...the first set of pics I saw looked like the road from Fremont to Las Conchas...the last was behind the baseball stadium and high school on Benito Juarez, where the practice fields are.... It doesn't appear to have hit the Phoenix papers (online version ) yet....

Can't make out the entire story with the online translators...but it sounds like all the shootings were related......with a police chase, etc.
