Las Palomas update?

Here is a deeper thought for you... Why would the current operator be so willing to do what owners want, when they are in the process of being replaced? Also, if I had it my way the operator would force all owners to upgrade their units to 4 diamond standards (ex. flat screen tv's, no cheap blinds, no cheap furniture). Hopefully the next operator will do something about that, unfortunately my owner powers can't get this operator to do this and remove all the units in the rental pool that are not up to par.
The rental operator can do as they please, if they say that owners supported their decision or advised with them... so be it. The enforcer and decision maker is still the rental operator, not an owner or group of owners (might sound powerful for an owner to claim otherwise, however not one or 3 people are going to make a difference to the operator). now if that 3 people turned into 400, then it would make a difference.
Here I will twist words for ya to sound like we are one "curiousgeorge and I agree that improvements need to be made with the resort". True statement huh?

Why don't you use your position of great power to communicate the need for the resort to answer the reservation line? A 4 diamond resort would.

I would look at it more as "stop the bleeding" 1st. the renting of units outside of the rental operator has been a problem at Las Palomas for 4 years (1st the rental operator did not enforce, then they had financial problems). Since the resort is in a state of transition, it appears that certain actions are needed immediately in order to fix a huge problem 1st (Las Palomas get's plenty of complaints from other resorts and other operators for not enforcing their rental regulations- the problem has affected other resorts too). Drastic measure are sometimes needed in the interim in order to clean things up and improve moving forward. Hopefully a lot of these measure will be adjusted once the main problem has been resolved. No rental operator is going to take over the business at Las Palomas with the current situation (many have been interviewed- those in penasco and those that are international operations). I do like the idea of posting sub-par units and having a rating system for quality of individual units (something that a new operator would have to put in place.

Dry Heave; so based on posts from my 1st 3-days on this thing; sounds like SC can mandate alot of nasty shit. Just get rid of this 6-day limit 7 leave good people like me alone. Another example of stupid limits is: My Wife & I are DONATING a week @ LP @ wonderful Silent Auction next weekend at a Valley fundraiser next weekend, What r we to do stupid Squirrel & Dictators/WWG??? You are very selfserving.

Best way to approach an issue is to bring up your concern to the rental operator regarding your dissatisfaction of the reservation line, don't rely on others to complain for you.
Hopefully the next operator will be able to meet your expectations. You should be excited about the changes!

Not so much of a concern, more of a point about how bad the wildcat renting problem is at Las Palomas that other resorts have taken note and complained that the resort is not enforcing rental regulations. Amazing how concerned you are about sharing your dissatisfaction regarding Las Palomas on a public site- smart business for someone that owns at the resort. Part of their core business is taking care of the problem of having a vast amount of owners renting outside of the rental operator, once that problem is under control, I am sure we will see adjustments (of course those that rent on their own will be negatively impacted by the enforcement and clean up the resort has to do in order to get the problem under control).

Let's see 1st it was your "poor father" staying for a week, then your wife and you are "donating a week for a fundraiser". next you will say that you need a week for the homeless shelter you volunteer at. why do I have a feeling that you may have reasons ($$$) for not wanting a limit on guest of owners? Just seems strange that you say you are "good people" and the various examples of less needy people that require the use of your condo. Unfortunately owners who rent on their own are going to see drastic changes that will eliminate their ability to rent outside of the rental operator, may be time to sell if you fall under this category Howard T.

Just a gentle reminder, I have a really lovely Hacienda for sale in the Mirador, 2 blocks to the sea. Six total bedrooms, 4 total baths, in main hacienda and two apartments. Gated and walled 875M2 lot with 20+ Palms, bougainvilla, cacti, succulents, fountain, gazebo. You can live in it or rent it out totally at your whim. Total monthly expenses are much less that HOA fees. No HOA, Secret Squirrels, or management company to deal with. Relax and enjoy.

Secret Squirrels & WWG are the main problem, really dont mind HOA Fees if they are appropriately applied & if TC & SC dont flipflop like congress. Ur place sounds nice Roberto.

Sorry HEAT; Now I will retract the My Dad example (Dad has a lanyard) & the saleman examples (cause Im one too) but your people skills really are lacking....mainly u might want to try listening to folks issues and problems w/ WWG and SC dictatorship rulings. We all have bills to pay. BTW: just got most recent LPPMC statement I am down under 9K owed since I am still refering people for PAYING GUEST RES!!! Ur 6 DAY mandate still has not been addressed. U will have to give me condo # or office address so we can provide u details for the Charity event so u can bid on my condo Heave!!!

I am sure if you provide the details regarding the charity event, the rental operator will make an exception for you. Isn't that nice, owners working together to find solutions. I would make sure though to space out your "dad" reservations and "charity" reservations so that it does not bring up any red flags. Post the charity event on here, I am sure everyone would love to bid on a good cause!
