After the trucks dump rock, they go somewhere for a long time and I am not sure what they are doing but they eventually came back and dumped rock again.....so strange! It's like one moment it's under construction, but the next moment not....then it is again...I am so confused.

Glad truckers are getting paid again. One of our forum members with judgements against him for not paying sub contractors in the states should learn from this lesson and pay up.

Joe, hopefully these are our Puerto Penasco local truckers back to work and not outsiders. If they are strikebreakers would be very sad....always hated scabs myself

Big rocks are missing......... how does one fix that?

In an interview held much earlier with Javier Tapia Camou, State Coordinator for the Tourism Promotion Commission, he indicated there will be arduous work on the project in order to recover time lost due to, first, awaiting explosive permits to get rock from Cerro Prieto, as well as reorganization of work in order to pull out the larger rocks required by the project. Goals still remain to complete the project by late 2015.

I picture the poor drivers with crowbars and Hooka diving setups from Harbor Freight giving it a try. They must have spotted something and went to plan b.....bigger rocks from Herradurra where they have the equipment to load them....the superintendent at the mine is good guy that stays at santo tomas on occasion...

From what I read the truckers had been blocking the trucks from the horseshoe mine for over 30 days, I guess they pissed off the syndicate and they needed to put these big boulders in place so the project could move forward.

Sucking up to the powers that be in that crooked little port must get exhausting. They knew the arrest was illegal but still did it to hammer the transportation workers.....seems like you are on the wrong side being a trucker of sorts.

Amazing Jerry, A Puerto of approx 55 thousand people...a huge investment project, (Government involved project) about a thousand moving pieces , and here you are sitting on the sideline, no stake in the game, no reason to complain, and yet you do, simply hoping for a fail for some reason......I don't get it.

Sucking up to the powers ----- whatever dude. I do a strong business here with locals and foreigners alike. I don't suck up.....I follow the rules, pay my taxes, deposit and withdraw from Mexican Banks, I don't put myself above those that make the rules, I don't try to find a way to do it "my way" I follow them and if they change I follow them..I am a guest here, Yes I am a permanent resident, but I am a guest.

The port moves forward, it will be finished......or it won't....but at the end of the day, it has nothing to do with you or your opinions.

Spout up, beat on.....we are all listening.

Russ all we want to hear is that you feel for the little guy that is getting screwed you defend everything else and some of it I commend you for that. But come on defend the little guy if you are not afraid. You are a great ambassador for mexico I think that is good But you have a lot at sake in the game.

Number one, I don't like sake......

Number 2, I do not have in front of me any clear news of what is going on out there. I am all for the little guy, the medium guy and the big guy.

I want to see the port completed. My only financial stake in it is the completion of it.

I do not care nor am I asked to care about the day to day goings on out there.

One mans strike and protest is another mans opportunity.

I am sure wrong is being committed on both sides of this conflict.

I don't know who is right, or who is wrong.

If the little guy is being maligned by the big guy it may go down in history as one of the least examples of it.

This world is hideous with corruption and the little guy always gets it....is it right? No of course not, will we change it with this project in Peñasco? No of course not.

At the end of the day when you have an opinion on this project , how you would do it better, how you would protect the little guys, how you would complete it so that it was fair to everyone (including yourself) you are just beating your chest.

OK some time can't spell dog. All I said was that you never champion the little guy. We all as homeowners have a stake in this project but mine is not for financial gain.

I don't know if any of us know what's going on, and I hope workers who deserved to be paid were paid. Deserved is the key word. But I too want to see the port to completion- we hope to take a cruise of the Sea of Cortez!

So that means I am always for the big guy? I guess you need to know me better, that's ok it's your opinion

It seems to me that in Mexico, if there is a chance to take advantage of a situation, people generally take the advantage. My job is to not let that happen. I finally found a group of great workers that give me honest work. I am still seen as a rich gringo. I do treat them with the respect they deserve and pay a fair wage.
