Just read that this morning the police served a restraining order against 13 dump truck drivers and they secured the site of the trucks. Another report says some of the drivers were arrested. Not looking good for this project.

As for the Mayor, the town HATES him. I feel bad for his wife because she's a nice lady, trying to do some good things, but word on the street is that nobody will support her projects because of her husband.

Somehow in my stupidity it strikes me they are arresting the wrong people, but that's just me. What do I know?

I think you are right on track. So they will just screw the poor truckers. This is going to turn into a real mess.

image.jpg Maybe RockyPoint360,Russ etc. need to consider their positions on the homeport in light of the abuse these hard working guys are taking...from a local "
they havent been paid for 3 months and are just asking for that....while the federal govt is bringing in another contractor to finish the job,and leaving these guys hanging without pay
6 of the guys are still in jail right now on 10k bond..upon bond, theyre being told to remain silent about this whole thing or theyll be jailed again!!image.jpg

I guess we will never know the crux of this is trucker strike, the project will move forward and the soap opera will play out.

These giant trucks on the road to Herradura will be a nightmare.I put the over/under of deaths at 4...broken windshields at 500, The road is a real mess again near the mine if you are taking a boat to Lobos lookout....bad!!!!!!
I think the hinted at understory is a big one.The rocks put in so far are the wrong size and could cause the Jetty to have problems in the future.

Problems in the future is exactly what this project will get. You treat your employees/people well & they will give you a good day's work and their respect. That will also earn you the respect of their family & friends. If you screw them over you will get the same in return, forever. People don't forget these type of things, ever. RP is a small town and word travels fast. This project is huge. It will require many workers & will take years to complete. Then it will need an ongoing work force to run it for many years into the future. You can't bring all your employees from other states. The well has been poisened & it's the only well in town.

It all started when we some of us asked who is the contractor of record. Yes it maybe built but at who's expense if anyone out their thinks this is fair deal for the truckers because their paper work was not in order they should not be paid. You have never worked for yourself. It is not them it is the contractor of record Who the government chose. Wake up!!!

Only in Mexico can corruption and greed screw up a perfectly good boondoggle. Well, I imagine there are a few other third world countries that could screw it up quicker. Nigeria comes to mind.

It's going to get done. Yes, some will get scewed... However it will get done. Its the federal, state and local baby that has too much attention.

The screwing of others happens everywhere. In the US we are just better at conceiling it and making it sound like a win for everyone.
