Lunch at La Cita

After getting us lost (I'm really, really good at that), discussing directions with two young ladies who lived a far distance from La Cita but pointed us in the general direction - then more directions from another gentleman who was crossing the street, we finally arrived at La Cita. If one does not have me as a navigator it is apparently fairly easy to find - I will not give directions as with mine you will probably end up at the east section of town rather then close to the main road (BJ). Did I mention that I was even working with a map!

Arturo introduced himself when we arrived and within moments we felt like we were old friends (used to go to the old La Cita at the old port since 1957). Rosie arrived, and of course she and Arturo were friends, so even more talking. Place was very clean and pleasant. There are no views, off on a side street, but if you want great food, better prices, and a place that you will probably find less tourists, you will enjoy La Cita. GD's boyfriend said it was the best Coke he had ever had - in an old glass bottle. I found my wonderful old tacos at 40 pesos for a plate of 3. Kids had tostados (3 to a plate and they looked great). Rosie had an omelet that looked really good. Their specialty is mole poblano at either 80 or 85 pesos - I'll be back to try that as La Cita was the first place I ever had it and I loved it.

For a party of 4, including drinks, our bill came to a little over $19.

Plus, if you get lost you end up meeting a lot of really nice people who are more then willing to stop and try to get you headed in the correct direction.

I do love Penasco!!!!

I read about this place on this site. Every time I go down we eat at least once here. Very clean, very good.

I've known Arturo for a long time, yet didn't realize his family was the La Cita family. The food was wonderful...bested only by the company. Thank you, Julie. It was nice to spend time with you and get to know Cindy a little better. Tell your granddaughter I think Shawn's a keeper!

For those of you who still wonder where La Cita is, let me rescue Gato from trying to tell you. From Benito Juarez you turn on the street that takes you to Botica Lux (the big pharmacy about a block before the phone company). At the stop sign where the pharmacy is, turn right. It's on the right hand side about a block after that right turn.

Thanks for lunch, Julie! It was a treat.

Thank you - we all enjoyed it - conversation was great. Very relaxing. A lot more on the menu we want to try. It was my Dad's favorite place for breakfast - one could add lunch and dinner too :) Plus my kids seemed to make it their separate home away from home. Fortunately for my pocket book prices were really low. Still seems like some of the best pricing around town even now.

Finally a thread about something good to read, I loved the old La Cita everytime I go to the fish market I always look to see what is in the old location.
For the record it's.
5- threads about crime or shootings.
1- Obama dislike thread.

Can someone start a thread about all the good things happening in RP.
How about a thread on whats happening on Calle 13. LOL:cheers:

One of them will be about the American's that do charity work here, one thing they were intrested in was Ladyjeeper sneaking computers in. They loved that LJ. You mentioned it to the right person at my birthday party.
