Try telling that to the families of the, over 1 million people who did die from Covid and the many other's with long term issues from it.
You must be thinking it "Sucks to Be them" when you think about it.
Do you have an orange complexion and bad hair like some other mouth piece who was spouting "it's just like the Flu" ??
People should be wondering how many people have died because of that Lie to the People of our country who would
still be here, If only somebody did the right thing and told the truth and took proper action back in Feb/Mar.
But then you prefer "Sucks to be Them".
Sucks to be them, is what it is or suckers and losers.
I’m seeing the “You are ignoring content by this member” flag in a few recent posts on this thread so the racist, anti-science trolls must be gathering for another desperate COVID fake news charge. Time for some of them to go back into the sock drawer, especially the ones who never have anything useful to say about Puerto Peñasco.
I’ve got my second injection in the Pfizer COVID vaccine study today. In two weeks I plan to get an antibody test that will tell me whether I got the read deal or the placebo. No reports of any problems with the Pfizer vaccine so far. They have applied for approval to expand the trial from 30,000 to 44,000 in the US to include additional vulnerable groups and push the age down to 16.
I look forward to hearing about your test results - it sure would be nice for a safe and effective vaccine to come to market soon. Thank you for volunteering.

your fat man and his pasty-white slenderman son-in-law didn't include the one group that matters most to that "peace" deal - the Palestinians. Matter of fact, just to appease Israel, it most likely makes it less likely for real peace. Think about that for a while.
Put your money where you fucking mouth is!!! I guarantee GUARANTEE that I have a higher IQ than you. I will bet you a thousand fucking dollars. You're a child because you have the mentality of a little kid. Grown ups are talking about real issues and your only addition to the conversation is to chime in with CHINESE VIRUS. You're a tool.
Put your fucking money where your mouth is. I bet I do EVERYTHING in my life better than you. I'm in a wheelchair precisely because I WAS BETTER THAN YOU!!! You could have never been in a position to break your fucking back because you pry don't even know how to ride a motorcycle and if you do then I guarantee I would have fucking mopped the floor with you. Pick something. I will go head to head whenever you'd like. Maybe you're better than me at the 50 yard dash! That's about it. I used to wipe my ass with BENCH RIDERS like you. GTFOH!!!!!

4 maybe 5 more countries will be added to the agreement soon . Your just pissed your guy is a failure .
Well , M.J.
got his knickers in a knot . Trump got the mid east deal done mean while your guy is standing in a field swatting bugs with nobody there. 49 days ,can't wait . As far as this virus , you have a 98% survival rate mean while it's local government social engineering at its best . Life is a risk as M.J knows all too well . Relax have a beer and enjoy the ride .
Mid east deal done!!!! WOW!! You seriously are low information! With the two HEAVY HITTERS in the region UAE and Bahrain?! Please!!! LOL again, when you speak you let me know who you really are. A low information person. Which is pry why your whole life you've kept it simple to hide that big brain of yours. I guess that's why you guys stick to simple answers. I mentioned a 2,000 year EXTREMELY COMPLEX subject and your answer was TRUMP GOT THE MID EAST DEAL DONE. Shocker!!! You provided me with absolutely no meaningful information which means I am now dumber for having listened to you.
Yes, that's right. The mid east is now fixed because we got those heavy hitters in the region UAE and Bahrain to sit down with Israel... You're an official idiot. We haven't even talked about Iran, Saudi Arabia. Tell me your thoughts about the Israeli land grabs going on in Palestinian territory. I'm sure you're well read on all of that complexity right? I mean you're Maduro Steve after all. We come to you for understanding. Maybe we can get an airhead quote from Queen while we're at it.

This deal is a publicity stunt for both NET and DRUMPH. Net was being investigated for corruption and barely squeaked out a win recently while we know what is happening here and it's 50 some days until an election. UAE is getting F-35's so if you read into this deal there is plenty of incentive on all sides to do this little beauty pageant. Again, no mention of Israelis that are squatting and settling in Palestinian territory. This is hardly some mid east breakthrough. Only low information people that don't read or have an understanding of history and the world champion this nothing burger!

My reading of some fairly obvious tea leaves is that the US will begin distributing the Pfizer vaccine four weeks from now. Based on side effects we believe my wife definitely got the vaccine, but it’s still near 50/50 for me. I’m primarily a physical scientist but the mRNA approach in the Pfizer vaccine is almost certain to be safe. There is no virus or protein component. The AstraZeneca vaccine uses a generally innocuous primate virus to deliver instructions for synthesizing the Covid spike protein. Only a large phase 3 trial can rule out a small number of people developing an illness from the delivery virus.

Typical of a liberal to call names , all this to make yourself feel better about yourself . Palestinians don't have any interest in peace , they will be dealt with soon . Mean while , your Harris Biden folks , deer in headlights !!

Your political bullshit is apparently only permitted for entertainment purposes, but it only shows, here it comes, what a dumbass you are.
Look, words and names are meant to convey thoughts and I think you're a dumbass. Actually, I think you should be a fan of name-calling, after all, it's the leader of your cult's favorite way to communicate. Hey, I'll throw in a few lies too, just to make you feel at home. Good boy, now go sit down.

Actually I put the blame for those deaths exactly where it belongs, China. The Chinese virus was created and released by them. They did all they could for months to cover it up. President Trump reacted early by banning flights and people from China while Pelosi and other democRATS called him a racist and a xenophobe for his decisive actions trying to protect Americans.
P.S. It is basically just like the common flu. Might want to see how many people worldwide the common flu has killed historically.

What do you call a peace agreement between 3 countries that were never at war with each other in the first place ?

Not true. You are a cash poor liberal who screams and cries at everyone who doesn't share your view that the system screwed them and we need a revolution. Most of us have made it. Sorry you don't have the brains or skills to succeed, but that doesn't make us children.
You are low information. People will keep sharing their experience in life. I share my experience because it relates to millions of Americans. I didn't make the system. I critique it. Wealth divide is getting larger while wages have remained stagnant for decades. Housing and cost of living increases are far exceeding wages continually year after year. Housing is now unaffordable for many, a theme I've expressed before. I call things how they are. The service sector is the largest part of the economy with the lowest wages. There are things that are and will be unobtainable by a third or more of the nation in years to come. The problem has only been getting worse since the 80's and will continue to do so. Read this LIBERAL publication by YAHOO FINANCE coming from another super liberal institution like DEUTSCHE BANK. This is a conservative publication talking about real financial issues for many. Instead of ignoring the facts and TRENDS that continue to prevail in this country, understand that these problems exist for many. These are facts. I know you hate those...

As a matter of fact, no, I don’t. My political beliefs are my own. I'd rather relate here to what makes me love fishing and Mexico, rather than which chicken is gonna be in my pot.
And for those that doubt me (yes, we used to have brutal politics here), please take me at my word that I honestly don't care which asshole you endorse (or don't), the only thing of relevance here is Mexico. And fishing. And the damned commardie we used to share around this.
Go vote. But please don't try to belabor any of your weak ass political shit here.
Tell me about the last fish you caught. Tell me that Lucas Chicken is the bomb. Tell me that the cops fucked you over. Tell me that somebody helped you unexpectedly. Tell me about border waits or weird stops.
But don't tell me about politics. Period.
If you don't understand that simple request, then GTFO.

Just a reminder....They also list the hours which is helpful.
September UPDATE on only essential travel across Mexico / US land entries - Technically, the US/Mexico/Canada agreement to limit non-essential travel has been extended to Oct. 21st per the Mexico Secretary of Foreign Affairs. HOWEVER, this measure has not been enforced by officials at the Sonoyta land crossing since it began in late March. We remain alert to any changes in actions at the Mexico land entry in Lukeville/Sonoyta. NOTE: BORDER HOURS 6 am - 8 pm (8 pm closure both ways US Monday-Saturday 4 am - 8 pm, Sunday 6 am - 8 pm) The most important thing is that entry into the US via land border is only for US citizens and/or US permanent residents. NOTE: You may get scolded by US border officials when returning North to the U.S., who will kindly remind you about limits on non-essential travel

Uh . . . I was being what they call facetious. (Clue: I was the first to give your comment a thumbs up.) I was merely reinforcing your point that the thread is getting tiresome (vulgar). As for my "weak-ass political shit," I don't share political stuff here, and don't engage with others who do. If you want to me to GTFO, I can do that, as many others who support a friendlier, nonpolitical, civil forum of yesteryear have already done.

U.S. Fishing embargo and high cost of diesel impact local fleet
Mexican president Andrés Manuel López Obrador’s decision to not restore fuel subsidies for fishing fleets, along with lack of progress on ending a U.S. fishing embargo specifically impacting the Upper Gulf of California, exacerbates the severe crisis Puerto Peñasco’s fishermen have been facing since March, stated Mateo López León, representative of the Shipbuilders Federation for the Upper Gulf of California.
López León regrets the federal government’s lack of attention to the serious problem of profit loss and impact of the fishing embargo in the Upper Gulf of California. These concerns mean 80% of Puerto Peñaco’s production will not be exportable to the U.S., which is its main market.
He stressed the current situation is unsustainable for the 130 boats in Puerto Peñasco’s fleet, not due to a lack of fisheries but rather operation costs that are already in the red. This may result in several boats not going out once the shrimp season fully begins on September 29th.
The U.S. fishing embargo, which has been in place since August 2018 as a measure to preserve the endangered vaquita marina, now extends beyond the Upper Gulf of California Biosphere Reserve to encompass the restricted area of Puerto Lobos and Puertecitos, severely harming Puerto Peñasco’s fishing industry.
They'll splash it when I win the lotto and buy it.
It is quite the boat. I've heard that Gus Brown owns it. But there it sits, as it has for years.
Gus Brown... I'd really like to know this guy's history. How did the government gift so much land to him????? After the revolution? And it wasn't ejido land either... which to my understanding can't be turned into a commercial development or sold??? I've heard stories.... I want to know what is true. Is this the most interesting man in Puerto Penasco? KEEP IT INTERESANTE!

Maybe time to start thinking outside of the box. The pacific side of Mexico doesn't seem to have this problem. There is HUGE awareness in Baja for conservation. Places like Mag Bay lead the way in conservation of Grouper. JULIO MEZA is who you need to read about. Stuart might know of this guy. They've also adopted the fish farming strategy on the Pacific side of Baja with Tuna pens.... Open ocean fish farming is going to be the new trend over the next 20 years or so. Why couldn't the Penasco fleet start to farm seafood?
Wonder if you can choose between a scolding or a banana's worth of radiation?
Crossed back yesterday and just where you headed and ran passports no x-ray no bull, unlike when I passed with the sicaria they held us for over an hour couple months ago.

Nice thought, but tough due to the geophysics of the area - steep tide, shallow water depth, water temps into the 90s in the summer. The Pacific side is much different.
Nearly all Atlantic salmon are farmed these days and there's lots of issues around it -- disease being a huge one and the massive use of antibiotics used to treat them. Farmed stock escaping into the wild and spreading disease to native fish.
Shrimp, maybe. They used to farm them in Gila Bend, but I think that operation busted. Nearly all the frozen shrimp in markets are farmed in Vietnam. White shrimp with little flavor. Still nothing as sweet as a wild caught Rocky Point blue or brown.
There was a facility just east of the school, CETMAR, near the entrance to Las Conchas many years ago where they farmed shrimp. Closed a long time ago.
I think our so called experts along with the media scared the carp out of us and shut down the country over a flue virus and now people have lost their jobs , homes business and medical insurance that was tied to the company that no longer exists . You look up the 1918 Spanish flue that infected 500 million world wide and killed between 20 and 50 million people at the same time fighting world war 1 . That carp .
Finally I understand ....carp means crap. You screwed up. Covid -19 is not a flue virus. We have a vaccine for the flue and not yet for Covid -19.
Wake up .

Joe, there are some newspaper articles about the Brown's, in Tucson's paper and the Republic.
Danny Brown was my neighbor in Cholla and built my places, his place was across the road from mine. Danny died in 2005 or 07.
The big white house on Pinto Point, Danny started building for his family, but was sold to a gringo in 2001, a good story about that.
Gus jr. still lives in Cholla and there's Aron/Benji Brown who has a place just past Ramon's store which recently closed.
Gus Sr. had 4-5 son's and 1-2 daughter's.
There's lot's stories about them, some good and some a bit on the shady side.
They all treated me fair and when Danny built my places, he did what I paid him to do. So I have no complaints about them.
Corruption at its finest: Corruption continues in Puerto Peñasco, now they charge 100 pesos per person to enter the beaches
Puerto Peñasco, Sonora, September 18, 2020.- Again there are complaints from tourists who visit this port, now a person claims that when he wanted to enter "Playa Bonita" a policeman prevented him access stating that "it was already closed by excess of people, if they want to pass they will have to pay 100 pesos per person ".
:
"GOOD AFTERNOON!
This weekend we made a trip to Puerto Peñasco with a group of friends (always taking hygiene rules) we wanted to go to "Playa Bonita" since it is touristy and where most of them always go there. It was somewhat surprising and disappointing at the same time (since I am from that beautiful city) they put public security to be able to enter said beach (which is good for "security"). The moment we wanted to walk in, a policeman stopped us saying: " young man the beach is already closed due to too many people if they want to pass they will have to pay 100 pesos per person "(the beach was not full) and I look like WTF? HOW ARE YOU GOING TO CHARGE A TICKET TO A PUBLIC BEACH ... it is the first time that I have been denied entry to a beach and also that they want to charge me as if it were the cover of a club.
PUERTO PEÑASCO.- With an investment of 1,200 million pesos, a project will start in Puerto Peñasco of three Dubai-type towers that will be built by an investor from Guadalajara, reported Jorge Vidal Ahumada, Secretary of the Economy.
He pointed out that the structures of the first tower are already in place, and it will be inaugurated in April; while the second is in the foundations, which is a sample of what is being bet on this sector.
He said he is convinced that the pandemic and the fears of traveling long distances will greatly cut passenger traffic and there will be no other destination than what is safe and close, and this represents the state of Sonora.
I have been hearing this a lot lately. It's usually announced on the radio La Reyna Del Mar. Last week they said an american"s car was stolen. A month or so ago a truck was taken from Ley Express in the middle of the day. There was another incident where a couple in a store parking area were taken at knife point with their vehicle and were dropped off unharmed.
Vehicle theft continues in Puerto Peñasco, today another was stolen
> Along the Lázaro Cárdenas, Marcelo Pino and Lucero Viuda de Morúa avenues
> The victim reported the incident on social media

Who know's what is real and what's rumors about the Brown's.
Below is some of what I heard, witnessed and read in the late 80's and 90's
There are many stories about the Brown's including the relative of Gus Sr. Shooting the husband
of a woman whom he later married that controlled/owned the Sandy Beach/Cholla land.
Original tract of land including Sandy Beach and Cholla was to be used for animal grazing.
There were some colorful news articles in the 1970's and 80's about this.
My wife's Dad had, on his Cholla garage wall many clippings about the Brown's,
but these were tossed when he sold his Cholla home in late 90's.
The Browns do have a ranch in Chihuahua Mexico, there was an article in a Tucson paper about Gus Jr.
having a jet plane seized by the DEA around 1980.
There's other articles about threatening to remove 300 people from their homes in Cholla in the early 1990's
for failure to pay rent on their land they were leasing from Sandy Beach Rental, some of my neighbor's were involved in that.
That was an interesting time to be in Cholla because you either disliked the Brown's or liked them, sorta like today's
upcoming presidential election, same type of heated arguments and opinions happened back then.
A number of people were evicted from their homes who lost their lawsuit contending the Brown's didn't own the
land in Cholla and Sandy Beach, which the Mexican courts said he did.
All they had to do was purchase the land from the Brown's with paid up past due rent and the problem was solved.
In many cases the amount to fix this was $10-30K.
There are a number of water front places that were taken around the 4 Aces and on Pelican Pt because people didn't
have the $$ or chose to leave their places behind out of spite, some were sold and the new owners discovered they
were suddenly liable to pay off the Brown's for the land. Lot's of crooked deals back then.
Mexico was an interesting place to buy and sell property before the Bank Trusts became available.
A shrimp boat sunk in the harbour today, if they cannot contain the oil and diesel spill there goes the beaches close by.

Fishing boat "Guillermo Munro" sinks in the port area of Puerto Peñasco
* Semar takes actions to contain oil spill
The fishing vessel named “Guillermo Munro”, with registration number 2601025923-2, sank in the waters of the port area this morning, Monday, September 21, without the appearance of injured persons, but the oil spill did.
Faced with the oil spill from the machines and between 600 and 1,000 liters of diesel, personnel from the Secretary of the Navy, Harbor Master and Semarnat went to the scene to assess the situation and proceed to carry out actions to contain the spilled hydrocarbons, to in order to prevent these from spreading and causing further environmental damage.
It should be noted that at the time of the sinking of the boat, it was loaded with the minimum of fuel, as it was barely programmed to fill it with diesel, so the spill of this fuel was minimal compared to what could have been spilled.
A group of fishermen who were in the docks area joined together to support the containment and maneuvering efforts to try to get the fishing boat afloat.

PULLED OVER IN ROCKY POINT !!
On Saturday the 18th my husband was pulled over by Mexican police after leaving our resort. It was my husband and another male occupant. He pulled over to the side of road, turned on his cab light to find his mask to go into Banditos. When he pulled back on road he saw lights in rear view mirror. My husband asked what he did and the response was “have you been drinking” my husband had only one beer earlier in the day. They went through both their wallets, checked whole truck and frisked them both. They mutually decided on 80 bucks. We are in their country I get it but when you literally have not broke any laws it sucks to turn over 80 bucks. When you leave your resort carry as little money as possible. If my husband would of told them he would go to court and take care of it, they wouldn’t of gotten any money. They were very nice and respectful but 80 bucks is 80 bucks.

The problems people are having with the lack of water in their houses and businesses is because Penasco does not have the resources for maintenance. They do not have the money to keep up equipment repairs. "The director of OOMAPAS, Kiko Munro's brother-in-law does not understand the inconvenience caused to the people by having them without a vital resource such as water."
Quoted from www.facebook.com/penascazo/
PUERTO PEÑASCO.- The low collection in the payment of water, non-compliance of delinquent, influential or recommended users, lack of resources for maintenance are part of the problems faced by the water utilities in the municipalities.
In a virtual meeting where the initiative to reform the Water Law and the State Law of Responsibilities was socialized, the deputy president of the Water Commission, Miguel Ángel Chaira, spoke with the directors of the organizations.
Municipalities such as Agua Prieta, Caborca, Cajeme, Puerto Peñasco, Naco, Ures, Huatabampo, Magdalena, among others, were some of those that exposed their problems.
Debts dragged by various administrations, overdue millionaire portfolios and a low collection of less than 50% are part of the problems.
In the case of Huatabampo, the director of the operating agency, Francisco Monroy, explained that in this Municipality they carry a debt of 15 million pesos to Infonavit, five million to the IMSS, in addition to having a collection of just 40%.
What's next??? Sounds very profitable at those prices....

The locals in Sonoyta are “escorting” trucks and cars to cut the border line. They are driving on the shoulder with traffic vests on and waving flags.
People are paying on average $45.00 US Dollars and up for this service to avoid the long waits they are still having on certain days and times. The locals are working with the police and said they only get to keep $5.00 US Dollars and the police get the rest.

I wonder how much the Cartel allows the Police to keep? $10??!!!
It seems the news posted here is trying to keep visitors from going to Mexico. It's working. Back to the high country for some more trout fishing. I do wish we had some shrimp in the freezer tho.....

There was this one retired DEA agent that worked most of his days chasing planes boats people here in Peñasco, very nice guy I used to run into him at the black dog before the newspaper people owned it, he told me many stories but I can’t share on here, he was really pissed at this one lady that owned property on Sinaloa and the railroad tracks, and then he was really pissed off when her crooked son became a lawyer, Gus was a pilot maybe someone knows that story that would be willing to share it, I know your looking for stories of this nature MJ. I will share in person maybe Roberto would be willing to buy the beers.

The story about Gus's plane was in the paper, I talked to his brother Danny about it and he stated the plane was taken and the lawyers
were attempting to get it back. I don't think he ever got it back though.
I'd get in on the cerveza thing and share. It would be an interesting evening. I've met MJ and meeting PlayaPerro and Roberto would be a plus.

That would be cool talk about the crazies on here. I wish that person that figured out who that lawyer Benji was. Was still around, who knows what happened to the bankruptcy lawyer. I remember Ernesto and Kenny went a few rounds with him.

There's a Benji Brown is Gus's brother about 20 years younger. I don't think he's a lawyer There was a guy named Rayal Taylor who ran Gus's SBR company for many years he may have been a lawyer. I think he retired. I didn't hear about Gus's plane crashing.

Oh yes, Dry heat.
He must have just blown away. Or maybe he found someone who knew how to tie a tie so that he didn't have to wear a clip-on tie for his business picture and he then became a divorce lawyer? Ha, I found the picture and Jerry spotted the tie.

Sorry I confused you with my post Benji is not a brown he’s was a lawyer that posted under the call sign of dry heat.
Pretty sure Rayal and Gus are brother in laws seems they skipped town awhile back when shit hit the fan.
The older Gus Brown crashed the plane, Danny’s Dad, I have never lived in Choya so not very familiar with the family but did stay at Casa Blanca condos for awhile had a great view of the shoot out the marines had with macho prieto.
Yea, this is the info I was looking for. So interesting! I'd definitely be willing to chip in on the beers to hear some of these. Maybe even a little NIEVE from DOG.

More stories I haven't heard before. I knew Rayal was family connected somehow. Gus Jr. is living in Cholla these days,
Gus Sr. I had seen in Cholla occasionally during the last 15 years he was alive. He died 10ish years ago.

Why can't they ever finish their house next to the road down to Tucson Beach? It's been "under construction" for 10 years at least! I always see them doing something to it too so it's not exactly like they're not actively restoring or improving but it's at an absolute snails pace. Looks like a nice house too. The white house on Pinto Point has always been my favorite. I've heard rumors of a trap door that leads to the rocks below for a water exit????

MJ the big white house near me on PP will be for sale sometime. I heard $1.5 mil, there's a ton of work still needed from sitting
without any upkeep for the past 10 years.
Gus's house next to Tucson Beach is a project, Gus has been living in a house across the street from it for years.
Wait till you see all the work being done on the lot where the old Cholla Motel was. Sadly Big $$ is ruining Cholla.
