This is the hottest summer I've seen in AZ in my life and I've seen plenty of them.
Climate change doesn't exist to some because if they admitted to it, they would have

I’m a retired physical scientist with hundreds of peer reviewed journal publications. Late in my career I taught climate science at a major university and traveled the world using underwater photography to document the effects of ocean acidification and ocean temperature increase on coral reefs.

Carbon dioxide and methane gases strongly absorb infrared radiation and hold heat in the atmosphere. The instrumental record (direct measurement) of these gases goes back continuously to the late 1950s. We have ice core records going back thousands of years. They are increasing at an alarming rate since the industrial revolution.

You can actually build a simple experiment in your garage to verify the warming effect of carbon dioxide. Build an airtight glass or plexiglass box of known volume heated externally with a floodlight. Place a digital thermometer inside the box. Allow the system to come to equilibrium over several hours and note the temperature. Using a small cylinder of carbon dioxide gas and a simple bubble flow meter to measure flow rate, add enough CO2 to replace several percent of the air volume. Again allow the system to come to thermal equilibrium and then note the temperature. Make a second equal addition of CO2 and again note the equilibrium temperature.

If this is too complicated go camping during the winter and keep a diary on the effect of overcast on nighttime temperatures. “Cold clear nights”, are generally cooler than overcast nights because water vapor is also a greenhouse gas. You can also compare the surface temperature of Venus (runaway greenhouse effect) with Mars (very little atmosphere by comparison), and correct for solar irradiance. All of the plans (and there are some) for colonizing Mars involve terraforming the planet by increasing greenhouse gases in the planet’s atmosphere.

The El Pinacante range of volcanic craters is 35 miles away to the north. Also Black Mtn is a Volcano cone across from Cholla Bay.
El Pinacante park is Pretty impressive to visit, black lava fields everywhere.

We drove in there on a Memorial day weekend years ago, the temp increased from 99 at highway 8 to over 120 degrees 5 miles in.
Our cars started to over heat so we had to turn off the A/C driving thru the sandy parts of the roads.
There's hundreds of cinder cones in there.

There are also cinder cones and mud volcanoes south and east of the Salton Sea in Imperial County California. I would expect that the local temperature increase in El Pinacante is mostly an albedo effect of the very dark surface absorbing more sunlight, essentially a microclimate effect. Probably would be a good location for putting in a geothermal plant (aside from being a UNESCO world heritage site). It might even be economical compared to solar photovoltaic, and if it proved feasible to extract lithium and other minerals from the brine, it could be a money maker, like proposed for Salton Sea. The Achilles heel of most of these desert renewal energy proposals is the lack of electricity transmission networks to get the electricity to population centers. For Puerto Peñasco local wind turbines would be the way to go which leaves the beauty of El Picante intact.

The problem with visiting El Picante seems to be the road in passing over private property and the owner wanting to get paid.

Mount Pinatubo caused the earth's atmosphere to cool for almost 2 years.

We could use a couple of nice eruptions (non destructive) this year to pump some particles

I have heard this happens, but this is the first time I experienced this:

I had a half of tank of gas and asked to fill it at the location of Premex behind Sam's Club (Jose Lopez Portillo & Josefa Ortiz de Dominguez) and was charged $42.37 usd for approx. 9 gallons of gas with using a credit card. Today I went to my usual gas station in front of Burger King on Benito Juarez and asked for 500 pesos to fill the tank that was again half empty. I was now charged $23.26 usd on my credit card.

Asked one of my local friends here in Penasco how he avoids being scammed at the gas pumps in Mexico.

His response was:
Always ask for a receipt the kind that shows $/liter and how many liters you actually purchased. I If they tell you they don't give those receipts it highly likely you are being scammed.

He had to get the manager to come over to get the receipt, which he did and it showed they shorted him 50 pesos. Then the employee said it's just 50 pesos so he said it's 50 pesos less gas he is getting so they gave him back 50 pesos.

Use a different gas station and always buy a fixed amount in pesos and watch the liter readout.
I buy 500 or 1000 pesos per visit gives you 25L or 6.5 - 50L or 13 gallons.

BTW they charged you 31 pesos per liter assuming Magna it's 19.75 in Penasco, 15.5 in Sonoyta.
You were ripped off for $19.

I usually use the station out by the Wind generators, seem to get what I pay for.
Also other stations are usually a bit light on delivery amount.

On Sept. 9th they did 134 Rapid tests for people showing symptoms.
Out of the 134 rapid tests 48 were positive and given a PCR test to confirm.

They just added 11 cases in one day and 1 death Sept. 11, 2020 ....The map is showing 175 infected and 29 deaths.

This is an older news article dated Aug, 8, 2020. It explains how the infections and deaths are drastically being underreported and the mayor confirms this. Here is the link for the full article if you are interested even though It's old. I also read on another site that 3 weeks ago Dr. Felix reported 1400 cases. So 10 percent death rate would be 140. Do official numbers undercount cases?

One of Puerto Peñasco's main selling points to draw visitors, and to push for a faster reopening strategy, is the number of reported COVID-19 cases in the city.
As of Thursday night, the Sonora Health Ministry reported 87 confirmed cases and 12 deaths.
But those numbers are a drastic undercount of what's happening on the ground, according to Iván Munguía Felix, a private physician in Puerto Peñasco and a member of the mayor's pandemic response task force.
He created an unofficial map to track infections in the city. It shows more than 270 infections in the city, more than three times the official numbers. He said there are about 300 more cases he hasn't added to the map. In all, he estimates there are about 500 unofficial cases.
"I'm gathering this information from all logbooks from the busiest labs in the city, and from other fellow doctors," he said. "When I started mapping it out I saw that our number is much more different than what government officials reported."
Munguía Felix started tracking cases after catching COVID-19 himself. He said public hospitals in the city are full and don't have tests. They have been sending infected patients to bigger cities given a lack of funding from the state and federal government.
That's how he believes he caught the virus, from an untested family member of an infected patient sent to Nogales.
Munguía Felix was hospitalized for 27 days, in serious condition. He credited his recovery to his brother, who is also a doctor, and a medical team that flew in from Mexico City to treat him.
When his condition improved, he resumed his private practice, doing virtual appointments instead. But Munguía Felix also continued tracking cases. His map assigns a color to each neighborhood to assess the risk.
It shows that the areas most visited by tourists, such as the Malecón and resorts, are in green, the safest level, while high transit neighborhoods away from the beaches are in red, indicating the greatest risk.
"Businesses and hotels there are enforcing measures like tests, temperature checks, scanners, all these measures and they've been able to quickly detect and treat cases," he said, citing it as an example that the city's safety measures are working.
The problem, he said, has been resistance in inland neighborhoods to the safety protocols and growing fatigue with masks and social distancing.
Munguía Felix said he tried reporting the cases to state and federal officials to adjust their numbers. They wouldn't accept them because they did not come from within their own labs or hospitals, he said.
"That's why I developed that map, because the (federal) government is not doing things well, and the state government isn't, either, because they depend on what the federal government sends them, and ultimately, they're the ones in charge," he said.
Munro, Puerto Peñasco's mayor, acknowledged the official case count is based on what the state and federal government reported.
He said the city has stepped in to help residents. In addition to the call center, they offer free testing and even free medication to treat the symptoms of those who test positive.
"What is most concerning isn't the confirmed cases, but the mortality rate, which is at around 10 percent," he said. "That is very worrying," especially for residents who have underlying health conditions, he added.
Munro urged residents at higher risk to stay home, and asked everyone, including visitors, to continue following the safety protocols, especially the use of masks.

Penasco, Under reporting Covid?? Definitely.
I know of a local Penasco family where 7 members had Covid, this is when they were reporting 99 cases in mid Aug.
Since I know probably 30 locals in Penasco, amazingly, I knew 7% of the reported cases. Hummm????

My best local friend there said, the number in mid Aug was closer to 500 cases, based on all the people he
knows who had Covid symptom's which he said was more than 30 people.
Many people don't have the $$ to go see the Dr. and just tough it out, it's when they start coughing badly , that's when
they go to see the Dr.
A guy who does work for me, that had it, ended up going to a Dr. it cost him about $275 to get the med's to get over it.
That's almost 2 weeks pay for him, I ended up sending him $100 to help his family because he couldn't work for 10 days.

My neighbor here in Phx has Covid and after almost 2 weeks is finally starting to get better,
he hardly got out of bed for 10 days. He said it's like having the worse flu, he's ever had on Steroids.
He's under 55 and pretty healthy.

So we opened up to visitors and we have increases in cases. I am no epidemiologist but I think we all saw it coming. That's why we are happy to stay home even though everything seems to be back to normal for the most part. We go to our beach area by ourselves, I go solo to the store to get provisions...and the rest of the time we are planning our post Covid life.......stay safe out there!

This was always going to be the ONLY outcome. What's more annoying is the fake concern for health with the sanitary filter. Cases are going up but the filter is coming down????!!! Why was it even a thing to begin with?????!!!!!!!! The under reporting of data is a play right out of the strong man playbook... Which is pry why DT wanted to do the same thing! Under report and take down filter to provide the perception of safety for tourism. My neighbor who is just getting over Covid isn't old or sick and in good health. It took him 10 days to feel decent again.

His brother, who he got Covid from, was tested and was found to be a Asymptomatic 40 year old.
The brother's girl friend (mid 30's) caught it and was in bed 3-4 days, her Dad (50's) got it and went into the hospital
for a week.
A Penasco friend and his wife I know that caught it are mid 30's, healthy too, it had them in bed for 5 days.

So spouting Covid only affects the "sick and old" makes you an self imagined expert, who doesn't really know anything about it.

Well I don't see you reporting anything of relevance now. Sure there is a lot of cut and paste but I have also posted things before it happens. Today the border was closed no in or out at Lukeville for about 10-15 min while SAT servicio de administración tributaria had the area blocked to do their thing.
