Looks like lock down will continue for awhile

Joe, the names need to match on CFE bill and your ID to get access. I don't know if they're checking that closely or not. Going the rental route is probably your only way in currently, Aug 16th? Friends and family allowed.

Looks like lock down will continue for awhile

Joe, Vehicles or allowed in Cholla maybe just not on the beaches. You should be fine. It's to control the beach access, so there's not a 1,000 people sitting in the water in front of JJ's, the Estuary and at Tucson beach which would violate their X amount of people per X square meters they...

    Border Report (July 2, 2020)

Joe, Aug. 2 - I don't see a problem other than it's going to be Hot and Nasty Humid. Or things change for the worse in the next 2 weeks. I'm planning on going Aug 8th for 3-4 days with some family and a neighbor so we can check on our places, put some $ on our electric accounts drink a few beers...

    Border Report (July 2, 2020)

Joe before the peso crash when it was 18 to 1, gas was about $4.20 per gallon in Penasco and $3.30 in Sonoyta. My last trip to Cholla in March gas in Sonoyta was 15.8 pesos and in Penasco it was almost 20 per liter. Roberto or others who live in Penasco can report what gas is today. Peso rate...

    Border Report (July 2, 2020)

I will sometimes bring down empty gas cans and fill them up in Sonoyta because gas is about $1 less per gallon there vs Penasco.

    Bill paying service

Last time I tried to pay CFE It required a Mexico bank credit card. I'll try zoom with Aug bill, probably 60 Pesos. By not being there for 5 months it's cheap.

Russ are you paying with a US bank credit/debit card or Mexican bank?

    Bill paying service

I wish it was that easy to pay on-line. I'm not aware you can pay many services for owning a home in Mexico on-line from a US bank or using a US Credit Card. CFE in person or on-line with a Mexico CC, (I put $$ on my account so I have a credit to pay future CFE bills. I've read you can pay via...

    Bill paying service

Aron Brown is good to deal with. He lives in Cholla and runs Sandy beach rentals. He has been very honest with me. 52 636 110 0850. If there is a problem with taxes, your trust etc. He will fight to make it right for you if they were in error. He is a resourceful man, he can have most anything...

Looks like lock down will continue for awhile

Thx, I knew that. The phase 5 open stuff has mention of cv test from July 15th if it's online yet and Aug 1st open the doors eliminating the sanitizing screen check point. It's perhaps a bit confusing.

Looks like lock down will continue for awhile

Roberto, I read the RP360 and a translated version of the official statement, here is what I got out of it, I'm still really confused. July 15th Non Res owners, family and friends can come down, but are they required to get a rapid Covid test to be allowed in? Either in the states or Mexico...

    El Barco oyster farm video

Sure do Russ, I live in a nice home in Phx area, we drive 2014 and 2017 SUV's all paid for. Only real bill I have is our house payment. Living in the US is pretty costly when you add up the $400-600 per month utility bills, health insurance $1,800 per month, car and home insurance $250 month...

    El Barco oyster farm video

A different attitude about money in many places around the world. To many having enough $ to feed your family, splurge on eating out once in awhile and pay your simple bills is more than enough. I've met dozens of people in Mexico over the years who live this way. Guess what they're happier...

Looks like lock down will continue for awhile

Maybe they have a very good reason to be upset. I and many had no idea this was happening. Sonoyta has a population of maybe 10-15,000 people? We used to stop at Vasquez's and the taco stand out front, it's been 8-10 years since we did that. Now we stop at the OXXO/Pemex on the bypass road get...

Looks like lock down will continue for awhile

I heard CFE did the same thing when people were behind on their electric in Penasco. No extra grace period during their lock down. I don't know about Sonoyta but in Penasco lot's of homes still have a water tank as a back-up. (delivery in Summer was spotty in past years). Hopefully there's...

    Border Report (July 2, 2020)

My understanding is she would also need a Perm res card. Supposedly July 15th they will let those without Perm Res Cards in. Basically open the flood gates, but we'll see since CV cases are exploding in AZ, Texas, CA and northern Mexico states. Sonora stopped most tourist traffic entering...

    Border Report (July 2, 2020)

Good report, On Thursday at 5pm sharp Sonoyta halted all tourist traffic made lot's people turn around to go home. Only let perm res card holders and Mexican residents allowed past the check point in Sonoyta. Now it's Friday at 11AM and there's postings on FB that Sonoyta re-opened travel to...
