Looks like lock down will continue for awhile

The amount of people with CV in Penasco has increased mucho since they opened it up again in June. My local friend who does work for me got CV from his wife who got it from her family so there are 7 in both families with it. Penasco has reported 99 cases total so far, this instance is 7 of 99...

Looks like lock down will continue for awhile

This time of the year I'll gladly pay the 12 peso fee Oxxo charges. Even being on the beach in Aug. is still pretty miserable if you don't enjoy the heat and humidity Penasco has now.

That is good to hear, I would prefer to be sprayed as little as possible, it sounds like I'll also get sprayed entering Cholla Bay. I'm going down early Sat and will find out what they're doing for my trip, it's still a cluster, but then Penasco is doing what they think is right to protect...

    Holiday Weekend Wait Times

This year with Covid who knows as you said? Typically on Labor day if you leave during 10am -12 noon you would have a 60-120 minute wait. Leave at 2-4pm typically a 2-5+ hour wait. Some people have luck leaving after 9pm though it's hit or miss, but I've known a couple of friends who had the...

Kenny, No disagreement from me on that. Inaccurate reporting of numbers started in China and spread worldwide just like the CV-19. It's just another disease called lying.

    Worth a read

There are so many articles out there that are mainly click bait for the questionable headline. So fake news is the game of the decade now. It seems like the word integrity has become much less important vs getting ratings. There are only a few news outlets in the US that still hold high values...

Looks like lock down will continue for awhile

I wish there was only one official CV source for Mexico, it would minimize some of the confusion. Here is a site that shows all of Mexico but you can click on the individual municipal areas to get update totals. It is showing 71 cases in Penasco. I am so glad that new cases haven't yet...

New Rules for Las Conchas Beach use ??

I bet the locals will be peeved, this time of the year on weekends there are hundred's of people in the water at the Cholla beaches. It should be interesting to see how this will be enforced.

    Worth a read

I Totally agree with Stu and Marty, When I told friends we were going to build a house in Mexico, I was asked "Are you crazy? there's Cartels down there and Mexico will nationalize everything again". I had a hand shake agreement with the developer who was drunk at La Curva restaurant to...

New Rules for Las Conchas Beach use ??

We've spent a lot of time in Mexico and Penasco for 20+ years because we own a home there. Greedy cops like $$ from anyone, they prey on anyone but especially like cars with US plates. Go look on FB there are posts from Mexican's getting stopped and Mordidaified. So who's naive?

Which Sandy Beach Developments would you buy in?

I prefer to trip over 50-100 guests when staying at a resort vs 300-500 at the mega resorts like Las Polomas. That's why I built a house in Penasco, prefer no crowds.

    Border Report (July 2, 2020)

Mexico has been strict on tires for years. 10-12 years ago, I tried to bring 2 tires for a buddy's SUV in, they said no when they checked my car. I ended up taking them to the Why gas station to keep until I returned from Mexico. I ended up swapping out my friends wheels and tires from his SUV...

Which Sandy Beach Developments would you buy in?

Agree with Kahunito, I like the Princesa, It's a smaller resort, less people, unit's cost less and the HOA fee isn't too bad. But, it's the oldest resort, the interiors of the 2 unit's I have seen were from the 1990's for sure, there might be some newer unit's that were added later.

New Rules for Las Conchas Beach use ??

Yes, I read Aug 15-16th for friends and family. Yes it's a cluster, I've been trying to go since June 1st, but don't have a Perm Res card yet. I can't go now that it's open for vacation owners like me, trying to go to San Diego for 1 week. Cholla bound Aug 8th hopefully.

New Rules for Las Conchas Beach use ??

The enforcement of these rules could be the problem on the Eastern beaches, places in Cholla and to the north because there's many miles of beaches to cover with limited personnel and vehicles. They really need a dozen shore patrol boats to monitor all this. This is all really making my head hurt.

    Border Report (July 2, 2020)

Joe, I missed that post, Yep the rentals are trying to make up for 4 months of nada. The Fees and cleaning are inflated now. The days of getting a rental deal are over because the place has to be registered with the City to get approved for sanitizing and people to use it. Fee's and taxes add...
