Press release from Periodico De Frente on Facebook

Review: My cut-and-paste from Facebook started controversy about validity / timing. So I followed up with one of a few links to a credible website, showing the story and date: http://translate.google.com/translat...ed=0CCoQ7gEwAQ So, while I hate the content of the information, I think it...

Rocky Point Crime: Are we there yet?

Well, and these BEWARE-OF-MEXICO alerts are issued annually like clockwork from media, just prior to Labor Day, Spring Break, etc., whether there has been recent violence or not.

    Any Rain in Penasco?

Yep, it got messy. Not sure of the latest situation in its entirety, only that (at least) the section where I live has been resolved -- bank trust now tightly in my fist.

    Sonoyta Bridge?

Meanwhile, today (around 11:00) the detour bridge . . . err, ford . . . was overflowing again. A swift current to drive through, with a major backup (for southward traffic, anyway).

    Any Rain in Penasco?

    Down your way at Dorada.

    Sonoyta Bridge?

From here, we got a fine light show to accompany that thunder.

    Any Rain in Penasco?

Heading back north soon. But this has been a great trip. More clouds and intermittent rain than I have seen in a long time down here. During a light shower yesterday, it was uncomfortably chilly! But of course that was short lived. Hate to leave.

Rocky Point Crime: Are we there yet?

"I lived through 25 years of working in downtown Cleveland.". . . Well, that does explain your perspective. I remember walking that tunnel between the Terminal Tower and the trains, or behind the Bond Court Building after working late, or other, less-than-safe, secluded places downtown to be...

Looking to hire musicians for beach serenade

Since the subject opened a bit to not-necessarily-English-speaking, but great mariachis . . . . The best I've heard (by far) is a group that sporadically stops by Del Capitan (daytimes, at least). I've also seen them on the Malecon once: Latido Norteno Eduardo

    Cold Water ?

Add me to the totally-agree-with-Jerry group. Those drinks are scams. But -- as I mentioned earlier -- for really heavy-duty work, such as, say, a 60-mile bike ride at 110 degrees, water alone can't keep up with the loss. For that kind of activity, a few electrolite pills can avoid problems...

August in Peñasco, are there any people there?

A mid-summer, steamy day in Penasco is admittedly brutal. But a little breeze makes all the difference. And at water's edge the breeze is enhanced. Plastic chairs, toes in the water, drink in hand -- as good as it gets.

    Cold Water ?

April, I'd serve up the cold bottle on a hot beach. As Roberto pointed out, the lots-of-temperate-water application is good for longer term maintenance on a hot day. The cold-bottle-on-the-beach application is more about a quick, refreshing cool-down. Also, Roberto mentioned "electrolit." Not...

August in Peñasco, are there any people there?

Heading down on Wednesday. Forecast shows a few-day window then of even lower temps and higher breezes. Hope to jump on that wave!

Warning - Don't Travel to Wisconsin!

I am taking no time to wonder. Busy fleeing to safety in Pensasco.

    A warm and fuzzy thread

I have watched over the years as an incident here, and incident there, along with highly publicized horriblizing and warnings -- caused most US tourists to run to their hidey holes. Like a caged rabbit, taken to the wilderness and the door opened -- rabbit stays tucked in the back of the cage...

    New scanner for Border

Of course . . . . . . the announcement does not address what health risks might be involved with being frequently micro waved. I’m sure we would be told it’s perfectly safe. :-(
