    Rocky Point Sunrises and Sunsets

Ok, I'm not a big-time shutterbug; but fortunately for me several of the guests I've taken out on the boat through the years have been, so I went back through all my picture folders from past trips and pulled out the prettiest skies we have captured over the past several years... There's not...

    Sept 12-13 fishing report

I imagine Grouper is pretty tough for the commercial guys since they can really only be caught by rod and reel, and you might sit for hours waiting to hook a fish. plus, the fish we use for grouper bait are pretty much commercially viable themselves... :)

    Sept 12-13 fishing report

My friends Trent, Ed and I took 3 days off work, so that instead of sweating in Phoenix, we could go down and sweat in PP, so we hooked up the boat and headed south on Sunday afternoon. Actually, what we really drove down there for was to eat some tasty blackened Grouper and Fettuccini Alfredo...

The dangers of Sonoran Hot Dogs

Would I be showing my "virginishness" if I admitted that I have never sampled a Sonora style Hot Dog....?

Another dead diver in Cholla Bay

Agree with Dan. Just look back at what Roberto posted earlier in this thread: This was (in my opinion) one of the most polite, and politically correct ways I have ever seen of saying "Mind your own business, Gringos..." :) I'm cool with that. It always sucks when people are dying doing...

    Sononyta speed trap

I've also seen the sign that says 60kph, but it drops all the way down to 20kph near the zona escolar. I've gotten the blue and reds in that region so many times I've lost count now, so I just do 40kph the whole way now and let the locals pass me screaming and waving their arms...

    Air Dolphin

We were fishing on the Caballo reef back in June and saw a huge pod of porpoises off to the SW, and you would have sworn they were having a contest to see who could jump the highest as they rolled along... they were all jumping as they went, and every so often, one of the juveniles would come...

Another dead diver in Cholla Bay

Well, yeah, of course... But, who would be foolish enough to approach and proposition such a woman? why, a 16-23 year old human male, of course.... :)

Another dead diver in Cholla Bay

If God wanted man going beneath the waves, he would have given us gills.... Of course, that was a joke, but my point is that an ill-prepared trip into the water is fundamentally no different than strapping yourself to a home-made rocket and launching yourself into space. Entering an...

Mexico's GDP almost 5%, Mexicans returning to Mexico

Several excellent points Jerry (I won't comment on the Mayan prophecy :) ), Here are a couple more major differences between Mexico and the current state of the US: 1) Mexico is a net exporter (of more stuff than just dope :) ); while the US is a net importer in nearly all categories -...

    "Valentine and Friends Revisited"

Yup, the entire book is basically a chronicle of 20 years of short stories/articles similar to the one above, plus a bunch of fishing pictures, and sketches, maps and other artwork by the Author.

    Sea Turtle Question

Egg chamber depth usually appoximates the length of the rear flippers of the mother, so maybe 16-20 inches...? "Depending upon the species and the temperature of incubation, the time between egg deposition and hatchling emergence will range anywhere from 45 to 75 days "...

    "Valentine and Friends Revisited"

Ok, here's a question for some of you more "experienced" Rocky Point boat fishermen who have been covering these waters for longer than I have... Anyone ever heard of "Saddle" reef as a nickname for any of the RP reefs? The author of this book refers to Saddle Reef as a common bottom fishing...

    Got the Secondary Inspection Yesterday

I sit here shaking my head... "We can't deny you the right marry whoever you choose, but we CAN deny you the right to choose where you will live, so that's what we'll do..." Brilliant in its elemental stupidity.

    Got the Secondary Inspection Yesterday

In these particular circumstances (husband and children who are US citizens) - what is the liklihood that she would/could get her legal immigration papers after being deported? I assume the process is long, slow, and painful, but doesn't marriage pretty much guarantee that she will get her visa...

    Got the Secondary Inspection Yesterday

Oh, and I'll also add regarding my point above about alloidial land title, that even Alloidal Title does not exempt you from property taxes... but it does make it about 100 times harder for "them" to legally kick you off your land in a tax dispute.

    Got the Secondary Inspection Yesterday

Well, my post above was meant to stir the pot (of thought) a little bit... :), but, truth is truth- there is no national currency in existence today that is not a debt liability against the citizenry. That's why the US is $14 Trillion in debt (equating to a completely un-payable 400k plus for...
