    Grouper Problems

All I can truly say at this point is... :mystery: Besides that, I'd be super cautious about eating anything experiencing these conditions. Many of the toxins that affect them can kill you. The blue phosphorus tide right now could very well be the source.

Another likely culprit, like a red tide.

    Grouper Problems

Disease, or possibly parasites, but more likely a disease that affects their swim bladders and ability to swim. It's not likely a disease they are passing to each other, like a cold, but is more likely a disease or toxin in something they are eating right now as water temps/seasons change. Seems...

    Info on Texas gulf fishing

It will be a blast! Not just "Rocky Point," but the entire Sea of Cortez is beautiful and unique. Say, do you know a good captain? :ohyeah:

    The Last Vaquita?

It's sad, always has been. But, as long as there is a peso to be made, the Sea of Cortez will continue being raped. Have seen many of the same things you have, JJ, over the years. Some better, and probably a few worse. It's horrible to watch at times, seeing live baby sharks cut from the womb...

They hate everybody, including themselves and each other. Maybe you hadn't noticed? The "Big Picture" is really pretty simple, Jerry. Nothing has changed up here in the Main forums. Several of them actually LIKE Mexico and many are fisherman that would like to know more about it, as...

    Info on Texas gulf fishing

To one and all -- Fishing is fishing. Be it here, be it there. I'd expect fellow fisherfolk to welcome an exchange of fish, tackle, ideas, how tos. Some of the techniques I use in Penasco for corvina I learned while fishing the flats for specks in Texas. It's all good info; nobody is raining on...

    Fishing Report - 12/10/2016

Fortunately, never heard of any cases or cig warnings in the Sea of Cortez fish. We don't have coral reefs and aren't all that "tropical,", which is where cig prevails. Possibly could occur, but people would be more likely to blame it on eating a bad street taco! :D The only truly toxic fish we...

    STUART! Lures?

I don't have an official price list, but most of the 9" lures I sell are only $20 unrigged. I charge $15 for rigging them how ya want them... leader test, hook size, etc. Specialized larger marlin big game lures go for about $45 each, unrigged. These are usually the 14" ones. Piped heads are...

    Fishing Report - 12/10/2016

I'll find ya a pic. I have a bunch. Basically a deeperwater bass, run to about 12 pounds, great eating! Common catch for our area. They are piglets and hit anything. They can be so thick at times you can't catch anything else. They glom your bait the second it hits the bottom.

    Frenchy's

They seem to have a good staff, for sure! I had clam chowder and seafood cannelloni Friday, then fried fish we caught on Sat. with tartar sauce and coleslaw (both fresh made), followed by a monster plate of the same fish served Veracruz style with rice and veggies. I was so stuffed I could...

    Fishing Report - 12/10/2016

Fished with Audi on his boat this weekend. Bait is aplenty right now just outside the harbor. Mackerels (with some horse sardines running with them) everywhere, just watch where the birds are and you can sabiki a full bait tank in no time. We didn't get any bonefish, though. We ran out to the...

    Thanks. Weeknd No Checkpoint

One in Organ Pipe was not a soul to be seen coming back yesterday. The one between Ajo and Gila bend was active, though. There was ZERO traffic at the border around noon. We drove right up like the first car they had seen all day! Pretty slow tourist weekend, which is exactly the weekends I like...

    Frenchy's

How have I missed this place before? Didn't miss it this weekend and wow, I'm so glad! Where? Off Calle 13, going towards Sandy Beach, right across the street from where they rent the ATVs and horses. Great specials everyday, the games, good drinks, excellent staff and service. Clarke and...

Having a bad day, Joe? Don't make me tip yer kayak over! :D Not EVERYTHING about fishing has to be about Rocky Point. I've fished several of the places these guys are talking about and you know what? YOU would love them! Some of the back flats and cuts are a kayaker's dream! Cranking on a nice...

    STUART! Lures?

Here's some at this link. My standard size is 9 inches on most of them. The Fish Whistles (venturi jet, my design) are about 14", as are some of the bigger marlin lures. https://goo.gl/photos/Kasj7DNvmg5nbTXr5

    STUART! Lures?

Thanks, guys. Don't have a website at present. Much of what I do is custom work, so it's not like I have 30 of the same lure to market. Occasionally, I will do a run for a tournament that's all the same basic lure. But most are one-offs. Be happy to post some pics.

bottom fishing southern sea of cortez

Bummer! Immodium is your friend, get to the pharmacia and get some, pronto. In all my years of traveling Mexico, have only had it happen once, but hit me like a ton of bricks while out fishing. Hope you feel better!

    Rants and Rave threads

I hear you. I'm such a damn creature of habit and my wife is even worse. We always end up going to the same places and getting the same things. They are things we really like, but still, you're right -- need to get out to somewhere different more often!
