Again, the word I got is that trucks are moving into PP and Sonoyta from Mexicali unhindered. This without the Federal Police getting involved, so I wouldn't be all that concerned about it.

I'm hearing all is good again, no protests and plenty of fuel available.

All I can say as I stated previously is that I paid $2.90 in Sonoyta after the 1st of January and I'm hearing PP is about $3.00 now. That difference is certainly a lot narrower than what I experienced in 2016 which was about a 50 to 70 cents a gallon between PP and the border.

Increase happened on Jan.1, $2.90 was on the 2nd.

Not all that bad compared to the $2.90 I paid in Sonoyta 10 days ago.

Was calm in Sonoyta on Jan 2nd at the Pemex Dunas I stopped at to fill up. Magna was $2.90/gal. The only issue I had was both there and on the 28th of December at the Pemex south of Calle 13, they couldn't get credit cards to process so I had to pay in pesos. Not sure what was up with that.

Got a nice GE Profile bottom drawer freezer refrigerator at Coloniales Muebles last year and love it. Just about as good a price as a very similar model at U.S. Home Depot's and they delivered same day for free to Playa Encanto. They even moved my old unit into my garage for a few bucks tip.

Closed as of Jan. 5th. Landlord would not renew the lease. Staff seem to feel he thinks he can take it over and own and run the joint himself. That won't happen for long if that's the case. He'll be sorry. I'll never go back there.

Doug used to work for the repair shop I have used for years here in the valley, Salem Boys on Warner Rd in Tempe. I believe he also still works for Sullivan in Mesa occasionally, though I don't know much about that dealership.
