That area between Las Conchas and Mirador is supposed to be the new public beach that was trumpeted when Gov. Brewer was here. I posted an article about it in a previous thread.

Thanks, that's where I thought it'd be. Seems to be a popular spot for the younger crowd to take photos on the beach, as I can never figure out exactly where they are from Facebook photos they post (no homes or structures in the background).

As long as you keep your smartphone in Airplane Mode (any network) just as you are crossing the border and turn it back while you come back to the US, you won't get any roaming charges. I bring this up as many use their cellphones to take photos--and to play mp3s--these days, and it'd be a shame...
