When all else fails, I can usually find 2 different qualities of beach umbrellas at the Cosmos 2000 Farmacia just after the railroad tracks past the bridge on the main road into town, aka Benito Juarez. Prices are pretty good, especially in a bind during the summer months.

Not sure why you are getting screwed over on the cabs. Basically, if you take a cab IN TOWN, just going from point A to B that doesn't involve getting over to the Sandy Beach properties, the fare is 20 pesos PER PERSON per trip. Or, $2 usually covers it. Ask the cabbie before you get in...

Friend just posted a pic on Facebook of the two-mile-long line from Sonoyta to the border as she's coming into Mexico. Stay an extra day, people! (Or at least until after sunset.)

Please post here what you can about what is happening about the water mainlines being repaired. My friends in the US are freaking out that they won't have proper sanitary services and such .

The Playa Bonita restaurant has a separate wifi signal, try over there. This could be why they don't want to fix the other one. Make you go in and order some coffee or a drink. ;)

The new Walmart, which is called Bodega in Mexico, has a green sign, it will be on the left as you are first approaching the outskirts of town, but past the RV parks. I would stop there first if you can.
