    Dumb question, but ...

Do you need to be a Sam's Club member to shop there in Rocky Point? We've always had someone in our group who's a member and don't recall if you need the card as you would in the states.

Has anybody had any issues crossing Lukeville?

Has their been any change in agency responsibility at the border itself? I understand some of the checkpoint officers you encounter entering Rocky Point or past the Mayan are under a different agency and have been more aggressive about searches and questions. Wondered if the same was true at...

Safe place to leave a car on US side?

We need to leave a car somewhere between Ajo and Lukeville on our way to Rocky Point. Anyone know of a place to do that, even if it means paying a small daily fee? I believe this has been discussed in the past, but things can thing so I wanted any current information someone might have.

More Promises Regarding Peñasco Home Port

Leigh is alive and intermittently present in Lobos. As for the trend in catch sizes and types, I've only been going down for about the past eight years. Don't know what it was like 15 years ago. I've seen old pictures of huge fish, but I've also seen big groupers and nice snappers caught in...

More Promises Regarding Peñasco Home Port

I haven't observed that problem in Lobos, but I can believe it about Desemboque.

OK, who wants to try it first?

I can't imagine forgetting you have a gun, but the odd shotshell or .22 round can easily hide in crevices and small spaces under truck seats. Once in Lobos a friend looking for missing keys came up with two No. 8 target shells I didn't dream were under there. I've since dealt with the problem...

More Promises Regarding Peñasco Home Port

Change of subject, since you brought up Desemboque. We see there are two Desemboques, one north of Puerto Lobos and another south of Libertad. I'm assuming the southern Desemboque is the Seri town you refer to. (I've not heard anything about their water situation.) Does the southern...

Road south to Caborca is unsafe!

I strongly suggest Penasco to Caborca to Santa Ana. The road down the coast becomes unpaved a few miles south of Puerto Libertad and is slower going. I've never taken the highway from Penasco to Caborca and don't know about checkpoints on that route. Highway from Caborca to Santa Ana is good...

    Pronghorns

There are Sonoran pronghorn in northwest Sonora and southwestern Arizona. Many are in Organ Pipe and the eastern part of Cabeza Prieta Wildlife Refuge.

How long ago was the great white hook-up at Bird Island? Not that I'm nervous, just asking for a nervous friend.

    Border crossing wait times evening

I know someone who plans to come back on Sunday, last weekend in March. He was hoping to hit the border around 3 pm. How long should he expect to wait in line? Would he be better off to get there around 5 pm? I don't know these things because I seldom return on Sundays. Last time I did I...
