We posted that one at the same time.Best massage I ever had was at the Sonoran Spa. I've been to the spas at most of the resorts and they have girls on the beach with massage tables as well. Sonoran Spa blows them all away.
Haha! Coming from Tucson, maybe "epic" would be a better adjective. Best I've had was in Guaymas, so that doesn't count.Blue Marlin- good Shrimp Tacos? I think w/ that Cilantro sauce, they're absolutely the best I've found! Also best Shrimp Quesadillas. If you know of a better place, tell me- I'm game to try it out.
I'm at las palomas now. Should I just walk over? How much should I bring (in pesos)?Best massage I ever had was at the Sonoran Spa. I've been to the spas at most of the resorts and they have girls on the beach with massage tables as well. Sonoran Spa blows them all away.
They take debit/credit cards also. I would drive, but only because I feel like a vegetable after a good massage and wouldn't want to have to walk all the way back. Just pull up to the guard gate and tell them you have an appointment at the Spa.Its about a 3/4 mile walk down the beach. I can't remember what they charge. I would think $30-40 (dollars) would cover it.
Don't listen to the knuckleheads saying anything negative regarding La Curva. It is probably one of the longest lasting (oldest) and most consistent restaurants in all of Penasco. We get down about 6-10x a year for 20 plus years and I have never once had a bad meal at La Curva. Food is great, service is very friendly, margaritas are really good as well. It's a no frills atmosphere, but usually busy and just good food.A buddy (mid 30's) and I (early 40's) will be heading down this weekend (2/20 - 2/22). We're staying at Las Palomas. I am hoping some of you are able to help with a few questions:
Will PP be busy, dead, or somewhere in between? Will we successfully avoid the college crowd? Is there always a college crowd?
I would like to eat myself into oblivion. I certainly plan on visiting Taco de Poblano and Pollo Lucas. Are there any other places we MUST eat at? Is the food at Las Palomas actually good?
Who should we buy from at the fish market? Must I take a bottle of water to get a fair shake? Though I'd imagine if I get "ripped off" I'm still getting better shrimp / fish at a better price than the states...
In terms of nightlife, where do the college kids go? Where do the less-young adults go?
Where is it *not* safe to walk at night? Where is it not safe to walk during the day?
Reading the forums, I gather there are a number of window "washers". Would you recommend just taking taxis whenever possible to avoid the hassle?
I hear JJ's takes donations to help locals. Is this legit?
I know I'm very inquisitive. Thank you in advance for your time!
I absolutely agree with this. Get there early for the best seat, order a margarita, or 2, or 3 and prepare yourself for an amazing show! For okay food, best margaritas, best view: Casa del Capitan up by the lighthouse.
Ja ja ja. Last time I was up at the Lighthouse they had a guy watching the first parking lot and stopping people who went to Casa !! Sort of a neighborhood problem I guess.Same parking lot.
