Ben, the boosters somehow have the idea guys like you ,me,Roberto,Kenny and Joe hate Mexico…when in fact we love it all…the good, the bad and the uglyCool pics!
Not true Jerry, most biz'es in mexico large or small financed and subsidized by the mexican gov will prosper, unlike the onslaught of projects not done this way won't have a prayer of a chance to make it. How many places have bit the dust in penasco.Ben, the boosters somehow have the idea guys like you ,me,Roberto,Kenny and Joe hate Mexico…when in fact we love it all…the good, the bad and the ugly
you have a point in general but this deal depends on the international market and the flow of money from Mexico City. This is not a given if another party takes over...when the container port in Michoacan gets going the trade that goes north and south via tucson will be huge…money is coming if the trouble stops http://www.latimes.com/world/la-fg-mexico-battleground-20140114,0,4212772.story#axzz2qcTyIShlNot true Jerry, most biz'es in mexico large or small financed and subsidized by the mexican gov will prosper, unlike the onslaught of projects not done this way won't have a prayer of a chance to make it. Hard to be in business when the competition next door does not need to make a profit !! Hopefully the new money control stuff will help with that. Not true Jerry, most biz'es in mexico large or small financed and subsidized by the mexican gov will prosper, unlike the onslaught of projects not done this way won't have a prayer of a chance to make it. Interesting stuff going on down there. Wonder who the CIA is supporting??
Instability is threatening the container port for now and a bad incident at "homeport" would be disaster ours......crap shoot and Mexico is going for a hard six. What does crazies running around with a white cisne on their doors have to do with the homeport?
Homeport was great in your "opinion" for Guaymas, and not for Penasco, what gives? You a little pissed Santo Tomas never took off... just sayin'.....Instability is threatening the container port for now and a bad incident at "homeport" would be disaster ours......crap shoot and Mexico is going for a hard six.
no I like it that way and think the exodus from Puerto Penasco will really jump start all the southern beaches.I just am calling bullshit on this thing.Guaymas actually is a real port(with limits) but would have been a way better choice.Homeport was great in your "opinion" for Guaymas, and not for Penasco, what gives? Land in and around Sandy Beach isn't exactly tough to come by... The question is, do you think this thing is a benefit and will increase value? I don't see many attractive real estate developments in the immediate vicinity of any home ports that I've been to...I find it interesting that the biggest naysayers of this project would be the 1st to salivate if they owned land in sandy beach.

Brown family might say otherwise in regards to land not hard to come byLand in and around Sandy Beach isn't exactly tough to come by... Last time I checked, that subdivision on Sandy Beach "Costa Diamonte"?? had about half of it's lots available... What about all the half finished projects? the place next to Chango's (Hut?), etc... Those can't be purchased?Brown family might say otherwise in regards to land not hard to come by
All of this is assuming cruise lines actually show up. Obviously we haven't gotten there yet. Lets take the new international airport for example. They built the thing, and it just sits there. No restaurants, junk sales, taxis, etc because there are no people flying in and out. Same concept here.who will benefit...
commercial real estate around port (expect more bars, restaurants)
hotel(s) around port
resale of condos (simply from more people coming down for the 1st time and wanting a piece of penasco)
petty theft (should increase with more tourists)
junk sales on the beach (name on a grain of rice, chiclets, etc)
vendor food and restaurants for those that are staying the night before or stay the night after an arrival
tour guides for those in town for a day
condo rentals (to a small degree, this may just be for a night or 2 for those that are making it a longer stay). I don't expect a huge increase in this market
