From the facebook Puerto Penasco Fans and Community: I am just reporting the sad story...teach your kids and yourself to swim, practice too...
"2 hours ago on Playa Encanto a boy ran up to my son and I on the beach waving his arms for help and spoke no English. My son went to get security and I followed the boy 300 yds down the beach. A family of children all ages were screaming and pointing. A man was floating in the water. I swam out and pulled him in. His name was Erik. He was about 28 yrs old. I did chest compressions and breathing for almost a half hour until the ambulance came. Security and the girlfriend helped. The kids were crying the whole time screaming. We couldn’t save him. He died. They said he was only out there about 3 minutes. My son had gone to get his car to help take him to the hospital it was taking too long. His car got stuck and the high tide started to cover it. I ran and got my Jeep as soon as the ambulance came and then my Jeep with winch got stuck out in the water. We got the Jeep unstuck and the Kia car pulled out thanks to some kind construction workers. Do not take life for granted. It can be gone in a snap. I wish I could have done more. I felt so helpless"
