Have a Western Tanager recovering on our deck - dazed from flying into the window. Read where they were suppose to be breeding in the forests in the North. Have noticed a flock of them on walks recently.
Seems like in the early days we only saw "sea" birds and "desert" birds - i.e. sea gulls, hawks, vultures, etc. but now are seeing a lot of song birds. I'm guessing either they have started coming here because of the new plantings - or my memory is really bad and they were here all along.
Alway seems like I read recently where people are now coming to Penasco for the "bird watching" - is this true?
What birds have you guys seen that are maybe new to the area?
