Vigilantes strike in Penasco

After a long stream of robberies with no action from authorities, vigilantes have taken action. Bodies of alleged thieves have appeared with hands and heads gone. Local internet media reports warnings that an unofficial curfew is in effect to keep off the streets after 11 PM. Those on the streets after that hour will be considered involved in criminal activity and treated accordingly. That word has spread throughout the community and businesses are closing early enough so the staff can get home.



Big running shoot out last night from Y griega to the streets of Penasco. Helicopters and all. Rumor is that some US residents got caught up in it. See numerounoonline.com and Penasco facebook pages.nMost of the reports are from the local community members and in Spanish. Whitewash in English ??

Word is that the short guy's people are coming to town

Sounds like time to keep our head down and be safe. Sadly this on what has looked like an economic recovery.

I don't see anything about vigilantes in the article, Sounds like the same crap that happens up here with druggies and then collateral unfortunate damage to an innocent motorist

There is no curfew in place and nobody's head is being chopped off. After this was put out it was revealed that it was an old message that had been circulating in Sinaloa almost a year ago. It was copied and started making it's way through Penasco. Totally false.

Thank you for the update, that's good to hear. I can deal with the occasional shootout, but full scale mutilations, curfews, etc would be a little too much.

Ja ja ja the rumor spread like wilfire in the community here. Calle 13 was empty last night. The drug dealer on Fremont took the night off too. Should have more rumors like this for effective crime reduction.

The other incident is reported to have killed an innocent family member of a worker at La Cuerva. Head on collision during a police chase.
