Anyone out there might have the phone number of the Mobile Tamale Man that cruizes the Las Conchas main road? We stopped him a few weeks ago when he held a sack of tamales out of his drivers window as we drove past him. Backed up to see what he had. He had fresh hot pork tamales and stacks of real tortillas de harina de mano made by his wife in the passenger seat. We bought a dozen of his tamales then stopped on the side of the road to give them a taste test. We each chowed down two and had to agree that they were just about the best ever. Very meaty with a few green olives and the greasiest masa ever!
Put a half dozen in the freezer for the next time down off road adventure. If anyone has dealt with him maybe you have a contact. He drives an older light colored rice burner.
