Funny that the guy's name is "John". I know a guy named John that lives in La Conchita, just below Santa Barbara, and have seen him jump on his surf board, paddle out, and catch some big fish just past the surf line. He's just as a crazy as this guy and an avid shark fisherman. I wouldn't put this video past him at all.

Kind of a mini version of a Nantucket sleigh ride, but it looked like the guy threw his fishing rod away. I hope the poor old shark didn't have to drag it around for too long.
