Sardine Beaching Phenomenon?

I saw this last year on Playa Encanto. Some type of grunion found in Sea of Cortez that spawns during the day rather than at night like the Pacific grunions do.

That's interesting. I wonder if the locals have use for all that fish. Or are they just letting them do their thing.
