I still use Proalliance. Never had to claim anything but they have always been right on top of getting the paper work. Hopefully I never need to find out if I need them!

Confirm directly with the insurance company your money was actually sent in, and you have a policy. Never pay cash to some agencies. Ensure your check is payable to the insurer, and not the agent. Some years ago we paid with paper US cash in October, and when we returned to the office in December our cash was still on a paper clip on the inside of a file.
