Springer, Patricia Anne (Obituary from the Arizona Republic)
69, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2010 in Phoenix, AZ after a brief and courageous battle with cancer. Her friends and family mourn her passing, but take comfort in knowing that while she is no longer with us, she is smiling; reunited with the husband she adored, Gary E. Springer, who preceded her in death 5 years ago. Patti was born in Thomaston, CT to the late Katherine and Harry Mortenson and moved to Arizona as a young girl. She is a graduate of Yuma High School and earned a Masters Degree in Art History from Arizona State University. As a professional artist, she spent years teaching art and creating designs through her Graphic Design Business. Later, she retired to Puerto Penasco, Mexico to live out her dream creating incredible pieces of work. She had a unique, natural sense about design and color that emanated from her inner spirit; forever leaving gifts of illumination and inspiration for us to enjoy. She had a heart of gold, a spirited sense of humor, and a zest for life like no other. She has an endless source of friends, as she was kind to all, and those in her presence felt her irresistible aura of joy and love. She is survived by her son Scott Springer (Beth), daughters, Stacy Laux, Shanna Springer Collins (Patrick), and her beloved grandchildren, Marlie Laux, Tyler Laux, and Charlie Springer. A joyous celebration of Patti's life will be held at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church 4715 N. Central Avenue on Thursday, October 7, 2010 at 10am. In lieu of flowers donations in Patti's honor can be made to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower Street, Phoenix, AZ 85014.- -
Our wonderful Patti Springer left us this past Thursday, September 30th after a brave battle with cancer, to rejoin her beloved Gary. Patti was a one-of-a-kind lady loved by everyone she touched. She will be very missed by her family and friends. Patti always had time for anyone, with her smile, laugh, and kind words.
