believe it or not matt his father ryan and i had the guts to go out saturday afternoon. talk about rough. the drift started of at 2.3 mph. i believe that is the fastest drift i have made to date. but it did slow down at about 3 oclock. we managed to get 4 gulf groupers one that was 56lbs and the others at 20 to 30lbs range and got 3 nice pintos 1 leopard and 7 or 8 white sea bass. the fishing was so good we decided to head out sunday morning and try the same hole. the bite was a lot slower we landed 2 small gulfs at about 20 and 35 lbs. and dave was out on his boat with scott and landed a nice leopard at about 15 lbs and a trigger. we lost 8 16oz. chrome jigs on saturday to some large fish only using 100lbs leader. it is hard to have good action on a iron with anything heavier. we are gonna have to find a solution maybe braided wire.
dont have the pics downloaded yet but when scott comes over i will have him down load my camera. and be sure to post the pics.

I can't believe you went out in that. Fri andd Sat was some of the roughest water I have seen down there. Was it worse farther out or the same. I thought the bite would be good on Sun as I went out on my little pontoon and loaded up on some of the largest trigers I have caught. Did the same on Mon. am but had to come home so fishing ended about noon for me. I am sure hoping we can get out with you at a later date.

Small Potatoes
Took The Wanderlust out on Sunday about 10 miles. Things were looking pretty good. Caught lots of bait in front of Sandy Beach about 1.5 miles out, including 2 catfish. Once at our spot we hooked up a 22# Leopard. Looked like it was going to be a good day until the lowrance decided to blank out. When we turned it back on it kept saying GPS module not responding. Like fishing in the dark after that. Couldn't get back on the rock. Called it a day and headed over to Cholla Bay to check out JJ's and the Mananathon. By then the wind had picked up and on the way out of Cholla got to go through some really rough water. Went out Monday am and turned around after the starboard engine had some major vibration.
