Hey, just a word of caution for those that may be walking by this area especially for those who haven't been back to Rocky Point since work started on the port. Last night, I strolled down Sandy Beach to have dinner at the lovely restaurant next to Wrecked at the Reef as I have in times past. It was dark out, no more construction going on and when I got up where the port area began, there were a bunch of rocks in front of me, so I started walking over them to get to the restaurant. Big mistake. It wasn't until I was already up and over them that one of the security guards present, whom I didn't see before, came running up to me out of nowhere and demanded that I come with him to be escorted out of the area. At least, that is what I thought he was going to do but instead took me up to the front gate of this project and informed me they would call the police to have me ticketed if I didn't pay them cash for trespassing on private property. I ended up paying them in cash so I could go eat dinner next door. But anyone walking down in this area in the evening needs to be careful if they aren't familiar with this new port project because there are absolutely no signs along the beach saying do not enter or private property. There was a roped off area but that was further in from the water and didn't include the rocks I had walked across so if you are too far to the left on the beach and it is dusk/evening, then you may miss the roped off portion of the beach. You can still walk down to go to the restaurant or bar, but you now have to walk around this entire area before you get to the port, so just be careful.
