Propane vs: Electric - Which appliances?

The only place left on my property is a small area in front of the curved end of the building. This is where I have a 1500 gallon septic tank. The leach lines are under the road in the canyon. I have room next to the septic but I am not sure about the possiblility of cross contamiation.
