Penasco on my mind

I don’t have a bucket list because all my buckets have holes in them as does my bank account. I have often thought about if my last day on earth was in Rocky Point, what I would do.

First, I would wake up at dawn, get my coffee with Kahlua and sit on the steps at the beach house watching the sunrise.

After cleaning up and a long shower it’s off to Max’s for one of their fabulous Bloody Marys. Then a jaunt to Maria Bonita’s for a Maria Torta or an Omelet Ranchero and the great view of the water.

Next it’s off to CEDO with my kids and beautiful granddaughters to have them learn about the wonders of the sea.

Back to the beach house to watch the youngins romp on the beach and in the water. I can hear the squeals, laughter and joy in my mind right now.

Now it’s time to clean up and head out to Senior Amigo’s for Tecate and Shrimp Tacos with my Forum friends. Once again sitting by the water and feeding the piggy sea gulls that fly in to demand their treats.

After a stop to see my buddy Roberto, home for a well deserved nap on the chaise on the patio looking at and listening to the tide crashing the shore.

I don’t have much time left so I don’t want to waste it.

We need to take the kids for beach walk to check out the tide pools for shells and urchins. For the older kids we need to check out the young ladies strolling along the sand. Hey, this is my day and I get to do what I want. Oh, and a Tecate Light helps on a long walk. Glad I’m not driving.

Okay, time to clean up for this evening’s festivities.

Off to Sandy Beach, the Sonoran Resorts and a quick visit with my buddies Jim and Joe.

Up the dusty road to the Wrecked for some Sol Beers and loud music. It’s great because I don’t hear all that well.

Next a short trip next door to Mare Blu for a beach front porch table, their fabulous Chicken Florentine in a Creamy Cognac Sauce and a big glass of Chianti. Do we see a common thread developing here? I have to stock up…It could be a long hot trip.

We have to stop on the way back at Pan y Vino for some Tiramisu and another big glass of Chianti.

Finally, back at the beach house to watch the sun set and kisses, hugs and a bid farewell to my loved ones. Oh, did I mention the glass of Baileys.

My last vision will be of the moon rising, shimmering across the water and my eyes close as I embark on a new adventure to the Great Beach House in the sky, I hope.

2 salty dawgs
amen indeed.
I love cresting the last hill heading south on Campeche towards the Mirador, and see Madre océano - the Sea of Cortez, on the horizon - we're home! love parking the rv at PDO, having a cold Modelo Especial, and then another.....
walking to the beach, stopping to see Edna and Bill, Ladyjeeper, and just enjoying our time on the beach with friends.
The Thanksgiving potluck dinner, boat trips to Bird Island, and trips downtown, eating shrimp. sleeping in and smelling the salty air....
see y'all later this fall!

Waiting until October to get back down there. Waiting, Waiting.
Waking up to the ocean and having coffee on the back patio and wondering what the day might bring. Going for a walk and if the breeze is just right off the land you can smell the bacon cooking.

Only 6 weeks to go down. Getting the jet ski ready for fishing. RV is in storage at PDO so it will be set in place the day we get down there.
All of the above - SO TRUE AND MORE!

Well Luna, When I had dogs, I always felt they were like my kids.

Although they didn't beg for a car, for money or for whatever. All they ever begged for was
food, love and a chance to return unending love. So I say take him along and go for it.

Remeber, life is too short. Always eat the cake, icing first.

Although I realize my dog is not human she does brings much happiness to my life. We always bring her to RP and has just as much fun as we do, probably more! Planning our next visit the end of October . . . which seems SO very far away.
