OLD PORT entry and exit blocked

actually they closed down the esplanada for the locals, that was like headed toward the navel base and a little beyond that...so the had to make a new nest!

Thanks - I've seen the work in progress, but she doesn't make all the fishing trips with me, so hasn't seen the Malecon in quite some time.

By the way... anybody know what was going on late Sat. night as you head over to Sandy Beach the Calle 13 way? There is a street not too far up from the Cameltoe that was PACKED and more vehicles (all locals) backed up trying to get in. This was after the RCPM show, so it was pretty late, about 12:30 or so. I was kind of surprised to see such a big crowd and so late. Well, not that late in Penasco on a Sat. night. I know they go on til the sun comes up!

That area is a hotspot on weekends for locals. They park and drink. Yes it picked up when they cleaned out the Malecon. The other hot spot is Matamoros and the beach across from the Ice box. Late night weekends often jammed.

Isn't there a bar or something down there on Sandy Beach? I remember seeing some ad for one a year or so ago.

i got caught up in this on saturday. they had not fully blocked it off and I was able to get around it. On my way back from old port i had to take some different roads as the exit by friendly dolphin was completely blocked and followed some locals who were able to get us around the blockade. my gringo spanish reading is pretty poor so wasnt able to make out what that sign said.
