so far this year my team has managed to catch 14 grouper. we are restricted from going out to far because of fuel costs. after all this is what i do for a living. i am super proud of our efforts so far and be sure you big fish every where you go because you never know where the big ones are ! here are a few pics . thanks everone for your support .

Very nice fish Rick, and also a good lesson that quality fish can be taken without a run of 50 miles - although for those of us in the "weekends only" crowd, it is a tough decision to dedicate ourselves to spending the time (and gas) searching for new rocks close in when we know that we can easily fill the fish boxes by running the extra distance.

with gas prices the way they are, I've been scouring old books and charts, and taking to divers I know about some of their "secret spots" in the hopes that we can have a fun spring without running the bank account dry.

also, I'm kind of bummed because this summer I was hoping to spend more time trolling the current breaks offshore for Dorado and Sails, but not if I end up spending $100 a fish in fuel costs

10-4 give the 51 area a break. go to your long lost spots close in and try for big ones you may be suprised . use a little super strong trailer hook for action on the small stuff at the same time.
