Stopped by 8/12 for a yummy burrito this morning ( OK GV, closer to noon OK) and a group of maybe 15 or 20 young folk streamed in, with an adult, maybe 15 or 20 laughing and smiling people. In the parking lot were 6 or so AZ plated vehicles with messages painted on the windows, "Beach Party" "Happy Birthday Sally" "Honk if you think I'm cute".

Lovin it in RP!
In our business which is promotion we have divided the North of the border crowd into 3 categories, not necessarily by actual numbers within the categories but the volume that each category produces.

33.3% Loves Rocky Point and comes here with eyes open cause they know it is a great place, they dont dismiss any crime but they have an understanding that it happens everywhere and they feel great being here in Mexico.

33.3% Wants to love Rocky Point. They envision being on the beach, deep sea fishing is a fantasy they have, exploring a foreign country is a turn on....but the USA media has made them nervous and they need extra information, maybe guidance in their decision to cross the border into the unknown. They really want to go though.......

33.3% Haters, these guys and gals generally hate themselves to begin with, they feel powerful behind a keyboard. They have no intention of ever leaving their trailer....house, much less doing something fun like trying something new in a new and different place. You cant market to these guys, they have a comfort zone, they will never go very far from it. If they ever did come to Mexico they would self fulfill their prophecy of having something bad happen to them. We dont need them.

We need to concentrate on the first 2 groups and disregard the noise from the 3 rd group

I still have people calling to rent my condo and I have heard that many places are sold out for Labor Day weekend.

Weekend policies are selling at a good clip and my office staff is busy with renewals. I didn't get out too much after the show, but I heard there were lots of people (non-Nationals, for those of you who think we're doing poorly unless visitors crossed a border to get here) in town at Pollo Lucas, the convenience stores, etc.
