Ok. Road into town was interesting with all the work on the overpass going on. But atleast it was more or less strait shot in. Hit the bank and got casita paid for.
Followed brother in law down to Autozone, dead cell battery in sand car. Head back and stop at vendor near dock for squid for fishing. Hit circle k and get back to casitas by 1pm.
Sweet!
Had 2.5 hours before tide would be almost full High tide. Got down to end of sandy beach. First cast 8" trigger. Between 3:45 and 5 caught 7 fish, 4 species. Wife caught 3, her first fish in PP. Bite city and missed as many sets as we caught but great time. No gear lost.
Water temp Very warm. Nice to be in.
Head back get cleaned up, get Tacos and a burrito at GUSS and then head to drag the Malicon, something going on and diverted half way down the drag.
Head back to casita, and ready to relax by 10.
What a day.
More to report later. Eyes are heavy now.

Which fish did you keep? Any Pompano/leatherjack?

Nothing big enough to keep. Trigger, sand/kelp bass a Pargo and some fish I am not sure of. Wife messed up taking pics so I don't have one of the un identified but it looked like a cichlid type body style (grouper or bass like form) and was almost a storm cloud gray/blue with 6 tan dots evenly spaced running down both sides of it's upper body. And it had sparkling blue eyes.
Only about 8". Juvenile grouper of some sort?
