That's always been the case with Timeshares (I used to have a couple in Flagstaff....for almost 9 years)....couldn't give them away when I wanted out (the Maintenance fee kept going up every year....)

We've had several friends go to the Mayan timeshare program to get the free brunch, and end up with a timeshare. We tell them to look up online and buy there instead if they REALLY want one. All have cancelled their contract w/ Mayan, some purchased online- big discount.
