Malecon Shut Down Due to Protests of New Vendors Squatting on Public Areas with City Approval

Thank God. These people came out of nowhere, paying some suspicious rental fees, now you can barely see the ocean from the Malecon, less find a place to sit. Garbage and stench everywhere. Now setting it permanent structures all the way down.

Put them in the parking lot where the Malecon approaches. The can do what is they want there, away from tourists and locals who pay an honest rent and tax, and don't gross out everyone in the area.

The malecon is barricaded by protesters. Police are on the scene but taking no action.

At 9 am the Malecon was open and it appeared that construction activity had resumed on the stalls.
