No first hand knowledge, but a local friend has said he believes total Covid cases are approx 1,500 in Penasco. He knows of 25ish people
who have or had it. Many people who have gotten sick just stayed home, because they simply can't afford to go get checked out.

So with Penasco saying case totals are 99, you can make your own assumptions. I feel we're only getting a part of the picture.
It wouldn't take a lot to over run Penasco's health system if suddenly 30-50 people came down with Covid who needed to be hospitalized,

Total case 18525 total death cases 448 = 2.42% approx. unless you want more digits after the 2 to be more accurate to the full/round number

Not that I am agreeing nor disagreeing with everybody else's number just stating the facts from what I found, and as we all know we have been given the wrong numbers from the very beginning, however, 26 death on June 7th out of 5 million, the latter is the numbers as of yesterday or a couple of days ago most definitely not June 7th, 5 million even if the numbers were grossly exaggerated was never that close to on June 7th

Last month we had 178 deaths in one day just here in AZ and then people started to wake up and take the proper precautions. I've been picking up my groceries, (they bring them out to me) about every two weeks and when I went yesterday, the use of masks had gone up from very few to maybe 90%.
What Arizona does or doesn't do has a direct effect on PP, but there's been a lag time.

If you came into my yard, maskless and coughed or sneezed in the vicinity of my family complaining about Fear Porn, you would have to crawl home, if you could. that would be after you were rolled into the street. Your little Fear Porn joke is not a joke to people who care about others. We do not fear it we respect it and have enough common sense to realize a simple act, like a mask in public, could save a life. I seem to recall you were touting common sense at one point but you don't seem to have any. The probability of contracting cancer is relatively small but the consequence can be enormous, as is this disease.

And hey that new report says only 7 kids. Surely we can spare 7 kids ! It's not worth having to wear a mask to try to save only 7 kids is it Steve? You can yak about what you deem low death rates but how would you feel if one of your family was in that group? seems to me that just ONE death is worth trying to prevent.

If Dr. Castro Castro has some information to pass along, I would listen . He has had supervisory responsibilities from almost day 1. He is not making it up.

What many of you may not know is that in the beginning all suspected infected people were immediately sent to Hermosillo for the initial examination period. Remember when people who thought they had the symptoms were instructed to NOT go to a local Dr,. clinic or hospital but to call a phone number for instructions? If they were clear in Hermosillo they came home , if infected they were quarantined in Hermosillo effectively keeping Penasco'S count at zero for an extended time. As everyone knew Penasco could not handle a load, Hermosillo has large hospitals and more capacity so it was a good strategy at the time and it had the positive side effect of some protection for the resort town's reputation and time to prepare. Not much was understood about the virulence and severity of this disease in the early days. Unfortunately Penasco lost a number of medical people during this period. Even masks were hard to find till a couple of merchants, Numero;s for one. found some suppliers and put them on the shelf. I found some in Mexicali early on in the US but there was no transportation to get them here.

SO pardon me if I am sick of hearing Fear Porn from some dope distort facts and who knows nothing and cares less. Remember the little children till we beat this thing. Let's not quit till it is gone.

I've seen 3 of my local friends this trip and none of them were wearing anything I call a quality mask.

Badly needed is an understatement. If they would have put in place and followed a few simple guidelines we wouldn't have the 4,158 deaths that have been reported to date. I'm glad most are starting to get it, with the exception of our two trolls of course, and that gives me a little hope. But man, as a whole, Arizona had dropped the ball and their inaction has cost lives on both sides of the border.

Won't happen. If something like this does come along, suspects will be given a quick Chinese virus test and then will be free to cross the border. If they do test positive twice, they will be allowed to quarantine in the US in some govt approved facility.
