How busy is the first weekend of Semana Santa?

Due to the busy experiences I have had in the distant past with Semana Santa I have avoided being in PP for that week for several years. I have an opportunity to be there on the first weekend (March 28-29) and wondered if it is as out of control as the Easter weekend? Anyone have experiences in recent years?

It's pretty bad although the last is by far the worst. Problem it the town is turned over to out of towners with little respect for resident streets, homes and traffic. It's unplesant to say the least.

Yeah, check out Lobos. It's a little bit busier than normal.

Last year stop signs were death traps! Do not expect anyone to stop; wait till they do.

I thought those red signs ment stop for gringos and whiz on through for the locals.
If I am not correct in Mexico if you hit someone it is your fault. So be sure not to hit but be hit
But that is a fiasco any way you do it. Just plan on them not stopping until they are stoped.
